Department Overview:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for an energetic and highly motivated Research Data Analyst 1. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with complex, large-scale data analysis projects that combine behavioral, physiological, clinical, and in some cases neuroimaging or genetic data (between multiple labs) in longitudinal, multilevel designs. Multiple positions will be hired and not all require neuroimaging or genetic analysis experience. Additionally, the incumbent will assist with the development and documentation of data-related policies and procedures, including enhancing workflows for data collection, curation, processing, and management. The successful applicant will also be responsible for assisting with and improving upon established research project pipelines by building applications that help organize research data from various sources and presenting research data in intuitive ways, with some oversight. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing data analytic expertise on future grant applications. The position requires the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and manage assigned projects including justifying technical decisions with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring experience in scripting (Unix, Python, etc.) and experience with the R statistical environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a team, troubleshooting issues, and have good verbal and written communication skills.

Function/Duties of Position:

  • Advanced statistical processing and analyses of biopsychosocial data, including neuroimaging
  • Assisting with data processing, organization, and document and policy creation, including enhancing workflows for data collection, curation, and management
  • Assist with building and harmonization of processing and analysis pipelines across studies
  • Aid PIs in grant writing and submission by providing preliminary data and analytic strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in relevant field OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in biostatics, computational science, psychology, or neuroscience
  • Preference will be given to applicants with experience conducting statistical analyses in mental health, neurodevelopmental, and/or neuroimaging research. Machine learning familiarity preferred
