Position Overview:
Business Analysts at Orthos are passionate about analyzing and interpreting data to help Orthos and our partners make data-driven decisions that drive high-performing business operations and revenue cycle management outcomes. Business Analysts spend their time analyzing data, creating real-time reports and data visualizations, and developing recommendations. Business Analysts never lose sight of the number one objective: helping us gain actionable insights from data that will allow us to process claims faster, hold insurance companies accountable, and provide transparency into the entire revenue cycle process and the overall performance of our partner practices. More specifically, Business Analysts discover insights that help our revenue cycle management teams to streamline the process for producing clean claims, reduce delays and denials, increase and speed up reimbursements, reduce costs per claim, recover lost revenue, and identify growth opportunities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform data analysis using cutting-edge data science and data visualization software; identify trends and patterns; extract key insights, recommendations, and conclusions; and communicate those points succinctly

Analyze results, review data for anomalies, investigate to identify and determine causes, and correct data inaccuracies and inconsistencies as necessary

Prepare and present reports with compelling visualizations that effectively summarize data findings and lay out key insights, recommendations, and conclusions. For example, develop and analyze business performance reports (e.g., for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provide notations of performance deviations and anomalies.

Communicate analytical findings and value-added information to stakeholders at all levels in the organization.

Work in conjunction with data management team and software engineers for statistical gathering, reporting, and compilation of benchmarking information

Extract data from EMR / PM systems

Work with the data management team on locating and mapping client data to Orthos’ data model.

Understand business issues and develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools

Preferred Skills:
-
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Economics)

Experience working with healthcare data in a finance or business context, experience working with claims data and insurance companies a big plus

1-2 years data analysis or related experience, including experience working with data visualization tools

Experience working with EMR systems

Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and/or statistical software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate technical concepts in terms that a wide audience can understand, regardless of their technical aptitude
