Responsibilities:
As part of the ODH Data Engineering team, responsible for the implementation and execution of data driven solutions leveraging Cloud Computing Services such as AWS. Design and implement various data ingestion solutions. Conduct proof-of-concept projects to evaluate data processing techniques available while establishing best practices. Collaborate with platform engineering team to develop enhancements and/or new product features. Participate in planning and status meetings to resolve issues, measure progress, identify and escalate risks and concerns in a timely manner. Analyze and gather technical requirements. Work with functional business areas on an ad-hoc basis to provide data driven insights.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a closely related field.

Four (4) years of experience with ETL/ELT Big Data implementation and techniques.

Four (4) years of experience with data analytics and data modelling in cooperation with business users.

Four (4) years of experience with software development lifecycle (development, testing, documentation, and versioning).
-
Three (3) years of experience implementing data migration and data processing using AWS services.
-
Three (3) years of experience with performance tuning Hadoop/Spark implementations.
-
Three (3) years of experience using interactive computing tools, such as Jupyter, Zepplin or Sagemaker, to write, execute code and visualize results.

Two (2) years of experience with Cloud Computing technologies.

Two (2) years of development and delivery experience with multiple programming languages, including Java, Scala and Python.
