PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Senior Finance Analyst, Insulation provides financial support for the commercial and FP&A aspects of Foamular®(Foam) business. In support of the commercial agenda, this person provides financial reporting and analysis and will maintain financial ownership of the business including sales, volume, price, mix to support the business goals of the Director of Sales and commercial leadership across the Foam business segments. They will also be responsible for gathering, analyzing, preparing and summarizing the P&L results and forecasts including financial forecasts and strategic and operating plans. This individual will lead the consolidation and reporting of key financials of the business, mainly the P&L/income statement and partner with the division FP&A team for other financial reporting as needed. Additionally, the position provides functional leadership support for several aspects of Finance including objective business insights, systems implementation, external financial perspective, asset management, timely financial analysis, and effective control infrastructure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting and Analysis –
- Lead the management reporting process for the Foam business including in-depth analysis of variances between actual results, plan and forecast.
- Create weekly and monthly reporting and provide insights into drivers of results. Areas of focus include price, sales volumes, product mix and overall P&L results. Synthesize results to identify risks and opportunities and communicate insights to the Foam sales team and leadership.
- Monitor the monthly closing process in conjunction with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and other functional teams (manufacturing, supply chain, Opex) teams. Communicate monthly/quarterly results in a timely manner to leadership.
- Maintain, deliver, and own an integrated P&L, and Foam Profitability Model for the business.
- Support the finance leader in articulating the near and long-term story of the business in Foam leadership meetings and help as needed with monthly business reviews with the President/CFO of the division. Arrange and lead meetings with monthly cadences as required.
- Provide effective and timely financial information, thoughtful business insights/analytics and business performance evaluations to ensure Business Leaders are effective in creating and executing the business segment’s strategy and operating plan.
Financial Forecasting and Business Planning –
- Maintain and own an integrated and consolidated financial forecasting model that provides an accurate forecast of the business at both the product and market level, on a monthly basis.
- Develop and maintain a robust and up-to-date list of risks and opportunities to the forecast, collaborating with the finance leader and other business leaders.
- Own the monthly pacing/prediction process taking into account latest info from various functions and calculate likely impact on the month’s results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and vertically with peers and Foam leadership to develop actionable, accountable, and resilient operating and strategic plans on an annual basis.
- Apply external perspective and maintain intimate knowledge of the segment’s competitive environment, market conditions, customers, and profit drivers.
Influence the performance of the business –
- Partner with Sales Director as the lead financial support for the Foam business. Interface directly with regional sales leaders to build robust forecast and operating plans and measure business performance.
- Provide decision support by financial modeling, business case analysis and financial/management reporting in order to retain and gain new business.
- Demonstrate financial acumen founded on solid fundamentals as well as a business acumen that reflects and understanding of the dynamics of the business.
- Evaluate financial implications of specific business decisions/opportunities and advise management accordingly to ensure targeted financial performance achievement.
- Exercise judgment to determine appropriate course of action and prepare business recommendations based on sound financial analysis.
- Provide concise and effective communication of financial results in a timely manner to management and non-financial personnel.
- Provide thought leadership on opportunities to improve the performance of the business.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset, evaluate financial processes and standard work cadences, make recommendations as needed to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste.
Demonstrate leadership horizontally and vertically –
- Partner with Foam business finance on various financial analytical needs focused on delivering business financial results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other business and divisional FP&A functions to drive standardized and automated reporting and analysis
Lead an effective financial controls environment –
- Support process of ensuring that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.)
- Maintain a clear tone regarding business conduct, ethics, the law, and financial controls.
- Ensure assets are safeguarded to maximize financial performance.
- Solve controls issues at the “root cause” and create broad organizational learning.
- Maintain independence in the view and assessment of the business control environment.
- Raise all issues of significant risk and non-compliance to the Financial Leader for the business group.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- 5+ years progressive financial analysis experience in a manufacturing/corporate environment.
- 2+ years experience in partnering with business leaders
- Experience with financial planning and forecasting
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint) skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- MBA strongly preferred
- Proficiency in SAP and BI reporting systems
- Functioning in a highly matrixed structure across functional, business, geographic and cultural boundaries
- 2+ years in a commercial facing finance role
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements
- Demonstrated rate of growth and success in prior roles
- Preparing executive level material and presentations
