Who you will work with

The Reporting & Analytics Associate position is based in Bain’s BCN Gurugram office and is part of a team which provides business intelligence support on key metrics to global functions (not external clients) at Bain. The major responsibilities of the role include supporting recurring and ad-hoc analytics on key metrics as required by leadership, using automated data processing and visualization tools by

  • Building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
  • Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
  • Developing expertise on key Bain data sources to deliver effective output


What you will do

The major responsibilities of the role include:


  • Applies and builds technical expertise of Data Visualization and Data Analysis (EDA) tools like Alteryx, Tableau, etc.

    • Building new workflows and dashboards using Alteryx (or other EDA tools) and Tableau (or other visualization tools) respectively
    • Refreshing and maintaining dashboards on Tableau, along with optimization of Alteryx workflow
    • Developing expertise on key Bain data sources to deliver effective output

  • Problem solving

    • Uses structured approach to frame the problem, manage the work and define next steps
    • Uses logic and reasoning to assess strengths and weaknesses of alternative data analytics approaches, to drive the output in day to day work

  • Stakeholder Management

    • Working directly with direct global stakeholders demonstrating effective communication
    • Translate user requirements into required output
    • Perform recurring tasks independently


About you


  • Education


    • Required:
      First class undergraduate/postgraduate from leading and reputed colleges

    • Preferred:
      Concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Econometrics, Business Analytics, or Market Research is strongly preferred

  • Experience


    • Required:
      0-4 years (graduates) or 0-2 years (post-graduates) of relevant experience working with large, multi-dimensional data sets and developing different types of visualizations

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


    • Required:

      • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint required along with working knowledge of data analytics software such as Alteryx, Tableau etc. as well as passion for automation of processes/reporting using these tools
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

    • Preferred:

      • Ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple competing priorities and drive projects to completion under tight deadlines
      • Experience with other BI Tools and demonstrate capacity to understand and/or adopt/learn new tools

Job Title: Reporting Specialist

The Reporting Specialist will develop service performance reports that support key decision-making and driving improvement for the GME service. Working with the GME Operations Director, this role has responsibility to manage the day-to-day reporting activities to ensure the service is delivering on the effective and efficiency objectives. Initially the role will be focused on establishing a new service in the US, Australia, and global congresses team and then expand into optimizing the services. Other markets will be deployed in future waves.


Accountabilities / Responsibilities


Role and Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge in MSSQL (T-SQL)

  • Expert in Power BI & added advantage if they has knowledge in any one of the BI Tools (Tableau, SAP BO, MicroStrategy, etc…) with effective visualization skills

  • Analyze and manage all reporting requirements to support both tactical and strategic decisions for service execution, customer experience, compliance, quality control, and operational optimization

  • Assess, prioritize, and communicate future reporting needs, functions, and strategies.

  • Investigate and solve reporting issues and problems

  • Generate and maintain control documentation of reporting procedures to ensure data integrity and efficiency

  • Establish reporting standards and criteria and maintain data and reporting integrity

  • Configure standard system reports, as well as customized reports as required

  • Pull and analyze relevant information from different sources including SAP, Concur, Cvent

  • Analyze reports and trends and based on findings, prepare and communicate results and recommendations

  • Ensure accuracy of all reported data by continually reviewing and analyzing current sources, processes, and systems functions

  • Experience working in a globally distributed team.


Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in development using any reporting tool with ETL knowledge

  • Superb communication skills in both verbal and written English

Preferred

  • Pharmaceutical experience; or other highly-regulated environment

  • Experience with meeting industry technology (StarCite, CVENT)

  • Meeting management and/or Travel industry experience.
