Title: Sr. BI Developer
Location: Bangalore, India
To enhance business functionality through design, development and administration of business intelligence (BI) solutions, report writing and ad-hoc querying, in all areas of the business. This position reports to the Global Business Intelligence Manager.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop processes to enable users to easily access accurate information on which to base decisions by conducting business stakeholder requirements gathering sessions to understand, interpret and translate requirements into an effective technical solution.
Design, implement, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, views, dataflows, data visualizations, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports to support productivity enhancements and operational efficiency.
Serve as design lead for complex BI development projects in all areas of the business, understanding full scope of the project and its implications to business & operational decisions. Ability to drive the project from concept to implementation taking into account current systems.
Ability to convey a compelling story using data, information and visualizations to bridge the gap from interesting to actionable.
Interface and verify with end users that the BI views and SSRS reports meet and support the business needs they were created to fulfill.
Perform administrative tasks for SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and Power BI servers and services to ensure optimal performance, minimal down-time, and appropriate access control policies are in place to secure data based on user role.
Provide technical support for all BI views and SSRS reports by troubleshooting and resolving performance, technical questions and issues with a sense of urgency.
Write ad-hoc reports to meet business reporting criteria of management team by extracting and formatting data using T-SQL and core system query applications.
Analyze and simplify current corporate and departmental reporting.
Assist in expansion and implementation of NoSQL database to serve as a data lake to complement the existing Enterprise Data Warehouse. Work with members of the BI team and identified citizen data scientists to proliferate the querying of NoSQL database.
Continually increase technical knowledge by keeping abreast of changes in technology, proactively sharing with teammates and user community, and by recommending solution changes.
Work with database team to maintain and enhance current data warehouse and data mart schemas to meet evolving business needs. Ensure efficient design and implementation of ETL processes for data warehouse population and querying.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
o Report writing tools (i.e. SSRS or Crystal Reports)
o MDX query language skills
o Multi-dimensional and tabular modeling concepts
o Data visualization techniques for dashboards and reports (Power BI)
o Excel (including VBA, Power Query, Pivot Charts, Pivot Tables)
o Project management, organizational & prioritization skills
o Attention to detail
o Interpersonal/teamwork skills; ability to develop effective relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
o MS T-SQL, including complex stored procedures
o DAX Querying (Power BI)
o Analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to develop effective technical solutions

- Working Knowledge & Experience:
o Performance tuning techniques for T-SQL, SSRS, and SQL Server Analysis Services
o Windows PowerShell
o NoSQL querying and development
o Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Azure Data Lake
o Agile software development framework (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
o Knowledge of product systems, operations and procedures preferred.
o Demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required
- Minimum five years’ experience working with relational databases, data warehouse and data mart development, ETL processes, multi-dimensional and tabular schema modeling, data analysis techniques.
