Role and Responsibilities:

• Be a Subject Matter Expert on batteries in the fields of electronics, mechanics, chemistry, thermal. This also includes interfacing with the host system and battery control protocols.
• Apply and Facilitate established Business Excellence methodologies such as Design for Six Sigma, Design for Reliability and Serviceability, DMAIC, … in battery development projects to release products and processes according to specified quality levels
• Work with project leaders, system architects and system engineers globally to identify and manage battery-related quality and reliability requirements
• Manage & execute risk identification activities, e.g. set up the risk management plan, facilitate e.g. user, design or process FMEA, fault tree analysis, …
• Set up and manage design, parameter and/or process optimization activities.
• Define and drive execution of quality and reliability test plans, working with EE, ME and V&V engineers or external expert centers, lab facilities or test houses
• Provide data driven expert opinion on root cause analysis of failure modes
• Continuously drive harmonization and increase quality content of library elements for battery assets, e.g. requirements library, risk register, test designs and protocols
• Act as subject matter expert and provide guidance in design transfer activities, supply chain quality planning, control and improvement
• Provide input to technology, platform and product roadmaps based on deep insights into global battery technology developments
• Work in compliance with local Quality Management Systems as defined per business

Experience & Skills:

• Experience of working in a regulated environment or a medical device company has a strong preference

• A proven track record in the development of battery technology or a strong motivation and capability to become an SME in this domain
• Experience in manufacturing quality control and improvement programs is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and a proven track record in implementing and applying concepts in the fields of design in quality and reliability, testing and problem solving techniques and quality tools in projects (e.g. DfSS/DMAIC Black Belt or equal by experience)

The Role

We are looking for ML Research Engineers, at multiple levels, to invent and mature advanced technologies to make our voice bots understand and adapt to conversations that are considered challenging for any speech based system right now. It involves extensive research and product development work in Spoken Language Understanding, Speech Recognition, Paralinguistics, Response Production as well as ML Systems and Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and evaluate Machine Learning systems.
• Perform experiments and statistical analyses to draw conclusions and take modeling decisions.
• Study, implement and extend state of the art systems.
• Take part in regular research reviews and discussions.
• Build, maintain and extend our open source solutions in the domain.
• Write well-crafted programs at all levels of the system. This includes the data pipelines, experiment prototypes, fast and scalable deployment models, and evaluation, visualization and monitoring systems.

Requirements

• Practical Machine Learning experience as demonstrated by earlier works.
• Knowledge of and ability to use tools from theoretical and practical aspects of computer science. This includes, but is not limited to, probability, statistics, learning theory, algorithms, software architecture, programming languages, etc.
• Good programming skills and ability to work with programs at all levels of a finished Machine Learning product. We prefer language agnosticism since that exemplifies this point.
