As a Biz2Credit Data Scientist, you will shape the company?s data-centric culture, work closely with our engineering team to develop our analytics infrastructure, and collaborate closely with our Chief Data Officer on developing, validating, and automating our customer conversion and underwriting models. While a background in financial services is not required, you must be passionate about tackling complex data challenges for the benefit of small and medium businesses everywhere.

YOU WILL:

• Drive the ongoing advancement and refinement of Biz2Credit?s credit decisioning & pricing modeloptimizing risk and return while dramatically reducing decision cycle times.
• Continuously evaluate alternative data sources and structures to document and improve the efficacy of our customer conversion models and processes.
• Harness the power of Biz2Credit?s technology to proactively identify emerging risks as well as opportunities with our customers.
• Play a leadership role in the design and implementation of ongoing operational and risk reporting and analytics.
• Work on data projects and proposals involving Biz2Credit?s financial services partners worldwide (banks, non-banks, debt investors, equity investors and others) to analyze, classify and visualize credit-related data.

Position: Data Scientist / Senior Data Scientist

Location: Bangalore, India

Overview: –

We are looking for a Data Scientist who will support our product, leadership and marketing teams with insights gained from analysing company data. The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights.

Responsibilities: –

• Working with business stakeholders to define and ideate data science based solutions to existing business problems
• Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data to be used for analysis
• Creation, validation and maintenance of ML/DL models based on business requirements
• Recommend enhancements to current data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

Skills and Qualifications: –

• Excellent understanding of basic statistics, machine learning techniques and algorithms, and their application to business problems such recommendation systems, customer purchase propensity models, etc.
• Demonstrated experience in working with a diverse team showcasing excellent communication skills to articulate and understand business problems
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as AzureML, AWS Sagemaker, Python, R etc.
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig etc.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase.
• Experience with Adobe Analytics suite is a plus

Experience: –

• Graduate degree in Engineering/Statistics/Economics
• 2+ years of experience, working as a Data Scientist.
• Prior experience with Marketing Analytics with specific focus on Market Mix models is a plus
• Prior experience with simulation models – Monte Carlo, Agent based simulations is a plus

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Quantitative Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required in one of the following or related fields: Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science or Data Science. An advanced degree is preferred (Master’s, MBA or PhD).
• 2+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical / Biotech / Healthcare analytics or secondary data analysis.
• 4+ years of experience in application of advanced methods and statistical procedures on large and disparate datasets, specifically:
• Statistical Analysis & Modelling: Design of Experiments, Time Series, Regression, Applied Econometrics and Bayesian methods.
• Data Mining, Predictive Modelling & Machine Learning algorithms.
• Optimization & Simulation.
• 2+ years of recent experience and proficiency with Python, R, SQL and big data technologyHadoop ecosystem (Cloudera distributionImpala, Hive, Hbase, Spark, MapReduce etc.,).
• Working knowledge of data visualization – MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, D3js or similar tools.
• Experience in MS Office productsExcel and PowerPoint skills required.
• Proficiency in manipulating and extracting insights from large longitudinal data sources, such as Claims, EMR and other patient level data sets.

Job Description

• Scorecard Building and Modelling Developing analytical models to assess risk profile of a customer / identifying cross-sell opportunities/fraud control for new and existing customers Responsible for development and deployment of various scorecards / models for the credit risk / Retail asset products of the Bank within the specified timelines.

• Ensure the deployment also is line with Banks strategies so as to gain maximum efficiencies.

• Estimate probability of default arising out of the scorecards and monitor deviation from expected default rates.

• Monitor portfolio and identify pockets of opportunity for business growth and risk alerts to control NPAs.

• Communicate these alerts to the respective owners and follow-up for closure Formulating data cuts and strategies to assess credit risk for new and existing customers of the Bank.

• Give feedback to stakeholders to improve the usage of the models Develop novel approaches/algorithms in Risk modeling to constantly improve the operational efficacy of current models and its impact to stake holders To adopt the latest trends wrt fintech companies by applying the best-in-class financial models, risk strategies To work on various aspects related to automation of scorecards in Analytics domain.

• Explore data available within the Banks ecosystem but not used currently to meet the above stated business objectives Innovation Thinking, evolving and making significant changes in the processes, techniques, methods so as to save time, energy and money.

• Any other assignments depending on the needs of the organization.
