What you’ll do:

  • Migrate existing data pipelines from on-prem regional data centers to AWS and GCP.
  • Architect a new modern event driven architecture with both batching and streaming
  • Adjust existing pipelines to fit the AWS processing model such as integration with S3, migrate to open source version of hadoop, adjustments to security model, etc…
  • Working on Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka, and/or Spark in columnar databases
  • Architect, design, code and maintain components for aggregating tens of billions of daily transactions
  • Lead the entire software lifecycle including hands-on development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation for streaming and batch ETL’s and RESTful API’s
  • Partner and work closely with the QA Engineers to develop automated tests
  • Participate in training and mentoring of junior team members

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning. Your responsibilities

  • Securing the suppliers to deliver right quality by both assessing and securing the suppliers production and quality processes.
  • Working closely in collaboration with technical department to assure the correct and clear quality expectations are set to our suppliers.
  • Supporting and initiating quality related activities together with Category Cluster Teams.
  • Managing supplier Nonconformities (containment action, corrective actions and Root Cause Analysis). All quality deviations will be channeled thru the SQE that will ensure that right corrective actions will be initiated, closed and followed up.
  • Initiating and monitoring relevant KPIs. Owning supplier results as measured by key metrics and drive improvements utilizing Supplier scorecards.
  • Responsible for driving Quality for assigned suppliers, improving quality performance via Quality plan implementation.
  • Driving supplier selection through a robust qualification process. The SQE will also manage supplier qualification process, including review and assessment of suppliers’ qualification documents and perform on-site audits with both assessing suppliers’ capabilities and capacity.
  • The responsibility of external supplier audit during supplier development are also included in the role.
  • Early involvement in projects and product development is essential to minimize risks.

Your background

  • Recent experience working with data-driven analytical methodologies for industrial quality applications – especially Statistical Process Control [SPC], Six Sigma, Process Capability (Cp, CpK), and/or Process Performance Analysis. Experience working with Process Improvement and/or Continuous Improvement practices (e.g. Kaizen, 4Q, DMAIC, Gemba, Root-Cause Analysis [RCA]; etc.),Examples of executed projects for quality and continuous improvement based on Quality Planning and Lean Six Sigma. Familiarity with ISO-9001 standards is a plus (expertise in QS-9000 will also be considered).
  • Green Blet certification (desired).
  • Capable to lead technical conference calls, read drawings and procedures in English. Demonstrated technical aptitude and a passion for quality.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A production support person/team is responsible for monitoring the production servers, scheduled jobs, incident management and receiving incidents and requests from end-users, analyzing these and either responding to the end user with a solution or escalating it to the other IT teams.

  • Hands-on exposure to VMware ESXi server and vCenter Server, understanding of other virtualization technologies will be a plus
  • familiar with software development life cycle & must have good analytical skills to trouble shoot technical issues. Should have good written and verbal communication skills.

What role will you play as a member of the Colgate’s Information Technology team?

Data Engineers focus on expanding and optimizing our data, data pipeline architecture, data flow and collection for multi-functional teams. The Data Engineer will be an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. You will support our software developers, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives and will ensure efficient data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. You must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. You will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives. This team is a group of innovators and technologists that love to learn and collaborate!


Who are you…


You are a function expert –

  • Build and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Build the infrastructure required for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
  • Assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs


You connect the dots –

  • Assemble large, sophisticated data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Build data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader


You are a collaborator –

  • Work with data and analytics specialists to strive for greater functionality in our data systems


You are an innovator –

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.


Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field a plus
  • We are looking for a candidate with at least 2+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role
  • Working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and find opportunities for improvement
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
  • Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment


Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Snowflake,PostgreSQL etc
  • Experience with cloud services: GCP, AWS, etc
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, etc.
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools: Cloud Composer, Airflow,etc. (insert specific functional requirement)
