The team composition reflects full spectrum of data professionals and are curated based on mission needs. You will be part of one or more of these dynamic teams.

A day at R2DL

• Development, review, deployment and management of analytics and/or models.
• Interaction with data engineers and application developers from your squad, including daily scrums, technical sync sessions etc.
• Visualizations, hypotheses development & feature engineering – validation interactions with subject matter experts.
• Product owner connects to gather requirements, collect feedback on delivered features and defining roadmap.
• Chapter connects for sharing best practices with other data scientists in the team.
• Ensuring adherence to ethics and delivery frameworks compliant to RR development practices.

Qualifications

• Degree level education in Mathematics, Scientific, Computing or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• >3 years experience in developing and deploying analytics solutions and machine learning algorithms.
• Hands-on knowledge of data processing and visualization libraries for example pandas, matplotlib, seaborn etc.
• Clear fundamental and applied knowledge of machine learning algorithms and exposure to classification, regression and time series problems.
• Domain knowledge in one of the following; gas turbine engines, aircraft engineering, airline operations or aviation maintenance repair and overhaul is highly desirable.

Software skills

• Experience with Python and Databricks, preferably on azure stack.
• Exposure to software development lifecycle developing test-driven, maintainable and reusable code.
• Familiarity with Linux, Git and Docker desirable.
• Experienced in exploring and visualising data using Tableau/PowerBI.

Soft skills

• Ability to clearly communicate with technical and business audience as well as stakeholders in IT and software engineering.
• Structured problem solving skills within a potentially constrained framework of secure, reliable, responsible and ethical digital development.
• Collaboration and team work, with a willingness to share solutions and best practices across teams.
• Ability to learn cross disciplinary skills and work in an agile dynamic environment.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Leverage AWS services to ingest data from source systems within their business domain
• Leverage databricks platform to process, clean and transform data
• Ensure and measure data quality according to business requirements and tracked KPIs
• Monitor and maintain existing data product such as data ingestion pipeline and ETLs
• Alert and act on data quality issues and system incidents within their business domain
• Ensure that data is available, accurate and fit for purpose following governance guidelines and compliance policies
• Ensure that knowledge of data mesh framework is shared
• Write and publish clear documentation of approaches and functionalities
• Take part in all agile ceremonies (planning, backlog refinement, retrospective, stand ups) and necessary team meetings
• Make all artifacts available through version control tool such as git
• Be part of the review process both as a reviewer as well as a submitter (PRs, architecture decisions, approaches.)

Skill Set :

• 2 to 6 years of Strong experience developing software in an Agile environment following best practices
• Experience with AWS cloud platform
• Ability to write production grade python and Scala code
• Ability to leverage Spark through Databricks platform (PySpark or Scala)
• Ability to create and automate data ingestion pipelines for both batch and streaming data
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tooling such as AWS Cloudwatch, Datadogs
• Experience deploying software using orchestration tools such as Jenkins

Your Job

• Architect, design, develop, deploy, and operate our web applications and data pipelines following best design and development practices on the platform securely, reliably, and at scale.
• Design new solutions and validate new ideas by either building on top of existing solutions or by prototyping new platform capabilities

Who You Are

• B.S or M.S. in a relevant field such as Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Python, Scala or Java
• Experience with developing backend API’s (REST / GraphQL) in a data-driven environment with large scale, high-performance systems
• Experience with data-stores such as: MySQL/Postgresql, Redis, Mongo, ElasticSearch or similar long term stores.
• Understanding and experience in Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines and equivalent cloud technology (GCP/AWS).
• 1+ years hands-on in implementing large scale ML Systems. Familiarity in design of feature store or model registry with latest tools in MLOps such as KubeFlow, MLFlow etc, and be able to guide the teams whether to use them or not.
