    Job Description Summary: Describe Your Team: We are Analytical Data Services within the Finance & Payments Engineering Organization, expanding our capabilities and expertise to tackle even more challenges and further advance the data science solutions and impact that we bring to businesses across the company. To ensure Finance Data Analytical solutions that solve business problems, we deep dive with our partners to understand their reporting needs and pinpoint “gaps” that need to be address. Then formulate cloud-based solutions to solve critical business problems such as: Planning & Forecasting, Budgeting, Daily Forecast Variance, Accruals, Open POs and closing. Describe the Opportunity: The Finance Data Platforms is looking for a full time experienced, customer-oriented, business-focused, and analytically driven Data Engineer (T24) to support the delivery of Finance Data Mart operations and project portfolios commitments. The Data Engineer will interface with teams, customer, and leaders alike to ensure seamless technological support of business process by ensuring the technologies we support are not an inhibitor to the business process. • Ensure Quality – Base the delivery model on best practices to drive efficiency / manage risks • Operational Excellence – Deliver on all commitments with no business disruption • Be accountable for continuous improvements. • Communicate effectively to instill confidence, as well as build trust and strengthen partnerships The role will be responsible for supporting global stakeholder departments and working domain leads and data citizens across different GEO’s such as Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. Because the position requires interaction with geographically disbursed teams so the candidate must be a self-starter with strong leadership qualities, project/task management skills, and analytical skills and comfortable working with distributed teams without direct management oversight day to day. He/she must be able to contribute to programs/initiatives and collaborate with the stakeholders and users as well as FADs analytical teams to drive alignment around Finance Application Services and Support for PayPal. These accountabilities will be achieved through developing high trust relationships with internal and external customers, critical data analysis, attention to detail and a customer focus. Process development and optimization, as well as deliverables management will be a focus for the role.

    • Partner with us product managers to support domains (e.g., FP & A, Real Estate, Engineering, Leadership) on the Finance Organization to build and improve PayPal’s Financial Metrics (OPEX, CAPEX) to SLT, Financial Analysts, Space Strategy & Planning and across various managers/leaders who always look for Finance data.
    • Deliver actionable, data-driven solutions to help understand financial data, launch, and optimize new features, and prioritize the product roadmap.
    • Identify key metrics, conduct rigorous explorative data analysis, create exec-facing dashboards, semantic layer to facilitate self-serve and build business cases that drive decision making and business prioritization.
    • Present findings and recommendations to senior-level stakeholders.
    • Define and cultivate best practices in analytics instrumentation and experimentation.
    • Support multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
    Requirements:

    • Data driven mindset with a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics
    • Fluent in SQL, Excel, and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, Micro-strategy experience required. Experience and/or appetite to learn Looker, Big Query, GCP, Big Data.
    • 5+ years of experience analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets and synthesizing insights into actionable solutions.
    • Prior work experience in Business intelligence, Analytics, management consulting or banking highly valued.
    • Can be relied on to deliver a data pipeline on time and to requirements, without data quality issues.
    • Works with internal teams when needed and contributes effectively to the success of those that they interact with regularly.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Can triage and resolve data / process issues
    • Able to evangelize best practices through prototyping or other means.
    • Evaluates and implements data solutions with various big-data technologies.
    • Good understanding of data processing, data structure optimization and design for scalability.
    • Excellent communication and team player skills to collaborate with cross functional teams for successful delivery of Data solutions.
