Job Location: Remote
- Work directly with the Transportation Data Science team to understand analytical use cases and translate them into data requirements
- Develop strategic roadmaps to implement technology solutions
- Drive development of complex architectural solutions with limited assistance
- Architect, build, and launch efficient and reliable new data models, schemas, and pipelines build against enterprise data assets to enable analysis and algorithm development
- Acquire, ingest, and persist third party data sources and files generated by Transportation business partners
- Identify gaps and inconsistencies in data collection and ingestion across our portfolio of warehouses that are inhibiting Transportation use cases and work with operations and engineering teams to resolve them
- Support the automation of data quality checks and seek to investigate and resolve related issues by debugging all aspects of the data pipeline and correcting problematic data
- Validate changes to data pipelines including supporting the code promotion flow from non-production to production environments
- Review the work of data wrangling and ETL resources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and performance
- Document data assets to facilitate ongoing development, end user reporting, etc.
- Collaborate with others to solve complex problems and resolve technological disagreement with informed, rational, practical solutions
- Mentor and provides guidance especially to other technical resources
- University degree in computer science, software engineering, or IT management and/or 6+ years of relevant work experience
- 10 years of direct data management experience including 2+ years spent implementing and supporting data pipelines
- Demonstrable knowledge of common database, data lake, data warehouse, and business intelligence technologies – e.g. PostgreSQL, Cloudera, Snowflake, and Jaspersoft, respectively
- Grow and maintain a broad and deep knowledge of data technologies and techniques
- Fluency in Python and SQL (other languages a plus).
- Possess a willingness to be coached and proactively seek feedback
- Handle multiple assignments/projects simultaneously

- Be willing and able to travel on occasion (<1 week per month)
- Having knowledge of supply chain concepts and associated technologies including WMS, TMS, YMS, and related systems is preferred
