Department Overview
The Enterprise Protection Business Intelligence & Operations (EPBIO) team is part of Information Technology’s Enterprise Protection organization that manages the business operations for Cyber Security and Corporate Security functions within PG&E. Enterprise Protection mission is to protect the people, assets, and facilities of PG&E. We work together internally and in concert with lines of business and supporting partners to provide security based on identified risks.
Position Summary
The main role of the Enterprise Protection Senior IT Business Analyst (SBA) is to focus on reducing financial and security risk by providing actionable and insightful data to enable the business in this changing technological landscape by supporting vendor management, financial, procurement services and metric reporting. The SBA is viewed as an integral strategic partner and business liaison in assisting and collaborating in decision making that impacts Security decisions. This role will be primarily supporting the Corporate Security department. In addition, this role is responsible for reporting, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the alternative solutions, project strategy and deliverable prioritization, as well as system alternatives or enhancements to current systems. The successful candidate will analyze business needs, define detailed requirements, and validate solutions with our internal and external partners.
The position is a hybrid role, defined as 0-3 days in office or as business needs require. This position will need to be located within the PG&E service territory.
Job Responsibilities
Business Analysis:
Responsible for Financial Planning Analysis and Reporting for the Corporate Security department, which includes monthly variance analysis, forecasting and reporting
Responsible for annual operating planning process
Responsible with resource planning for project and baseline activities utilizing headcount and contractor management governance
Assist with Project portfolio management and prioritization along with strategic road map
Assistance in streamlining operational processes and procedures
Business Case Analysis
Provide regulatory support and guidance
Vendor Management:
Work strategically and tactically with various vendors in support of Security Guards and system integrators
Identify and assist in negotiation of rates and cost savings for the department
Assist and track vendor metrics on performance of agreed upon deliverables
Assist in coordination and deployment of security guards at various permanent offices, temporary offices and EOC activated efforts
Qualifications
Minimum: BA/BS in Business Administration, Accounting or other relevant discipline or equivalent work experience 4 years of job-related experience in IT to include 3 years of experience in business analysis or a combination of an advanced degree and work experience Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft products
Desired:
5+ years of job-related experience in Business Administration or Accounting
Working experience in the Utility industry
Extensive participation in projects of high complexity
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Able to work independently and support others within the group to persuade, exchange ideas and foster cooperation Demonstrates extensive knowledge of accounting concepts, principles, or practices in a specific business area Demonstrates familiarity with several of the following areas: project management, related Lines of Business, SOX compliance, regulatory compliance, business case analysis
