Closeup recommendations at Pinterest help users explore the topics they are interested in and get continuous inspirations. This is one of the largest impression surfaces on Pinterest and we work with some of the largest datasets in the world, creating unique experiences for hundreds of millions of users. Our content ranges across all categories as well as a variety of formats, from images to videos and to our new native content format – idea pins. Our system serves billions of impressions on a daily basis, for users all over the world. You’ll have the opportunity to work on the entire tech stack of a modern recommendation system and use machine learning and data driven methods to advance the baselines at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Work with a group of engineers on advanced recommendation tech stack, ranging from retrieval to ranking.
- Apply and innovate over the latest machine learning techniques to improve ranking in Closeup recommendations.
- Use data driven methods and leverage the unique properties of our data to improve candidates retrieval for the recommendation system.
- Apply and improve over advanced personalization techniques to create tailored user experience.
- Work in a high-impact environment with quick experimentation and product launches.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of industry experience building production machine learning systems at scale, including recommendation, search and/or ads systems.
- Experience in working with cross-functional product and engineering teams to understand requirements and incorporate them in the roadmap.
- Machine Learning (ranking, computer vision, NLP, content recommendations, embedding, information retrieval etc all ok).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop/Spark) and scalable realtime systems that process stream data.
- Experience in working in cross team collaborations, strong communication skills.
Colorado Based Applicants Only
- The minimum and maximum salary for this position is $131,100 to $196,800 in Colorado;
- This position is eligible for equity; and
