Pixxel is a space technology company building a constellation of some of the worldโ€™s most advanced earth imaging satellites. The fully deployed constellation will be capable of beaming down high quality image data of every place on the globe every day. Pixxel is developing its automated image processing pipeline and artificial intelligence tools with the capability to detect, monitor and predict global phenomena in near real time. Pixxelโ€™s first satellite is booked for a launch in 2022.
Responsibilities:

  • As a Geospatial engineer you will be responsible for designing and developing the application systems required for the products.
  • Manage and own the backend services of automated satellite image processing pipelines and artificial intelligence tools on the platform.
  • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and software developers and manage overall QA, documentation, and sample notebooks.
  • Estimate and prioritise product development tasks in agile methodology.
  • Develop and implement test plans and test cases, write test code, and verify code changes and bug fixes.
  • Share workflows in help topics, blog articles, presentations, tutorials, and samples.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Computer Science, Geography/GIS, Engineering or related field required.
  • Industry experience of 5+ years in handling GIS related full stack development.
  • Experience with RDBMS such as MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL etc and Knowledge in querying of geospatial data.
  • Expertise in geospatial concepts and latest technologies related to GIS like Mapbox, Leaflet, Geoserver, Tileserver and knowledge of developing geospatial solutions using Python and JavaScript (AngularJS, React, JQuery).
  • Knowledge of handling satellite imagery data in Python using libraries like GDAL and rasterio.
  • Familiarity with standard software development protocols and coding standards.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Knowledge in Big Data and internet architectures and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Google Earth Engine, QGIS & ArcGIS.
  • Knowledge about the Model deployments and Cloud computing.
