Job Location: Overland Park, KS
Pomeroy is currently recruiting for a Systems Analyst to work onsite with our client located in the City of Overland Park, KS area. This is a full time direct hire opportunity. The main responsibility of this role is Assists with the evaluation of new systems. Evaluates alternatives based on ability to meet user, functional, and technical requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Works with senior analysts and network administrators to assist with installations, upgrades and patches of on-premise systems.
- Develops test plans for system installations and upgrades.
- Performs unit and integration testing and coordinates user acceptance testing.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of assigned system functionality and user department processes.
- Makes recommendations and configures systems to streamline processes and reduce errors.
- Trains users to ensure awareness of system capabilities; teaches users how to configure systems to fit their needs.
- Investigates system issues to determine source of issues in workflow processes, software or hardware.
- Works with vendors, users and other IT staff to resolve issues.
- Documents project work and responds to assigned help desk tickets in the City’s ITSM software.
- Participates in an after hours on-call rotation.
Candidates With The Following Additional Qualifications Will Be Considered
- Understanding of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts and usage and a working knowledge of structured query language (SQL).
- Experience supporting and configuring a CRM, ticket, or work management system.
- Basic knowledge of coding constructs (if, else, loop) with a programming language such as JavaScript, PHP or Python.
- Experience with a reporting or business intelligence tool such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, PowerBI or Tableau.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.
- One to two years of experience in commercial off the shelf information system administration and support.
