We have a rare opportunity for a Cloud Data Engineer to support our Digital Technology team growth!
The Cloud Data Engineer is expected to drive the ideation and development of cloud native capability solutions built on Azure services and other Commercial off the Shelf capabilities. We’re looking to use your technical expertise in helping drive Pratt & Whitney in designing and creating solutions and standards to leverage the best of the Azure cloud native capabilities.
The role is crucial in recommending tools and solutions based on research of the current environment and knowledge of various on premise, cloud based, and hybrid resources. Strong background in creating analytical models and stunning dashboards in PowerBI on Azure will be highly desirable. The role will aim to be an SME in the Azure data space for Pratt & Whitney digital manufacturing team blazing the path into Industry 4.0 solutions.
Additionally, you’ll share your skills in areas like data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced searching with your team while developing critical systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or in a related field and minimum of 8+ years of prior relevant work experience, including experience in cloud-based architectures, data lake storage, and data provenance; OR an Advanced degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience, including experience in cloud-based architectures, data lake storage, and data provenance
- Minimum of 3+ years of cloud programming experience in one or more coding languages
- US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Experience with building data processing systems using various tools used to gather, assess, clean, transform, integrate, publish, manage, search, and analyze data in a cloud environment
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services including Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, ML Flow, IOT Hub, Azure Data Factory, etc.
- Azure Certification
- Participation in communications events with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiar with the manufacturing, PLM tools, and supply chain operations
- Proven written/verbal and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels
- Structure and Organized with a detail-oriented, analytical and problem-solving capability
- Ability to interpret high level business requirements, and liaise between business customers, technology teams and support teams
- Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment, able to adapt to changing business needs
- Team oriented, with a strong work ethic and versatility are a plus
- Desire to learn & apply enterprise analytics and machine learning
- Broad collaboration across Digital Technologies (DT), PW Manufacturing and Aftermarket shops world-wide
