Position Description/Overview
Does analytical data flow through your veins? Are you fluent across cloud, on-premises, platforms, and technologies? Do you have deep healthcare experience? Do you love understanding strategic direction, creating design and direction, then getting fingers on the keyboard? This role is for a Data Engineer II supporting AI solutions. This person will design, develop, and support solutions to transport, store, and analyze our analytical data. They will be key in evolving and maturing our enterprise data strategy and capabilities.
Duties & Responsibilities
General
- Create data architecture, pipelines, and analytical solutions to meet software and data science requirements for various PG Healthcare Products
- Identify, evaluate, select, and prove out new technologies and toolsets
- Create and execute Proofs of Concept and Proofs of Technology
- Lead and direct the work of others in data dependent projects
Data Storage Design
- Collaborate with software development, business teams, and data scientists to establish data storage, pipeline, and structure requirements
- Identify and plan for data storage performance requirements
Application Interface and Data Storage Implementation
- Collaborate with software development, business teams, and data scientists to create and execute implementations
- Identify impact of implementation on other applications and databases
Master Data Management and Data Governance
- Build and evolve Trusted Record systems to manage entities across the enterprise
- Design, implement, and evolve solutions around person identity management
Team Collaboration
- Identify areas of development and need
- Support data practitioners in their efforts to extract value from our data
- Collaborate on standards and best practices
Technical Skills
- Hands on cloud infrastructure experience in one or more of the major cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS). Familiarity with cross-cloud infrastructure tooling (e.g. Terraform).
- Fluent in SQL and Python. Proficient in Apache Spark. Comfortable on the Linux command line. Additional data languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Go, R) are a plus.
- Direct experience with at least one relational and one non-relational database technology. Database optimization and tuning experience a plus.
- Hands on automation experience and familiarity with DevOps tooling (e.g. GitlabCI, Github Actions, Jenkins). Experience with the Docker/Helm/Kubernetes stack a strong plus.
- Familiarity with MLOps and common data science tooling and practice is preferred. Experience with MLFlow, Databricks and NLP is a plus.
Minium Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 years Data Engineering experience in an enterprise environment.
- Bachelors degree in technology or like field required.
