Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid/Remote Work Model)

This opportunity is for a Business Systems Analyst with technical skills who will act as an internal consultant, engaging stakeholders across the organization on projects that support our business systems. The primary focus of this role is supporting the company’s ERP system and associated reporting systems and integrations. The Business Systems Analyst will interpret the business unit’s needs, then develop and implement solutions. The Business Systems Analyst will report to the Sr. Director of IT and will work independently, receive minimal guidance, lead projects, and have accountability for ongoing activities.
This position is available for remote employees living and working outside of the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. For those who live in the Twin Cities area, this can be a hybrid position with time spent working remotely and in our Minneapolis office.
The Business Systems Analyst holds key responsibilities in the following areas:
- Working independently with minimal guidance to apply in-depth knowledge of business systems to understand underlying business processes and document complex reporting and integration requirements
- Conduct analysis and interviews to gather data integration and reporting requirements from stakeholders
- Develop, build, and manage new and existing integrations and reporting solutions
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend other key technologies/solutions to support and improve data and reporting processes
- Implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity and reporting best practices
- Develop and maintain test scripts, training materials, procedures, documentation, etc.
- Document databases models, system processes, and maintenance procedures
Desired education and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst or other equivalent experience
- Experience with SQL Server database systems and SQL Server Report Services (SSRS) required
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) preferred
- Experience with Power BI preferred
- Experience in accounting and finance preferred
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of database systems and reporting technologies such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI
- Successful experience working with technology teams and business users to analyze problems, propose solutions, and drive projects and operational requests to completion
- Strong understanding of business processes and how to leverage data/reporting/integration capabilities to support them
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central ERP is preferred
