Job Responsibilities
The Data Analytics Intern will report to the BI/BW/Data Analytics team and may have the following responsibilities listed below.
- Use basic analytical skills following clearly defined standard operating procedures
- Edit data and creates basic reports, as needed
- Integrate data to produce requested or required data elements/reports
- Generate basic ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using standard system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts
- Respond to customer data requests and performs basic analytics
- Analyze basic data and provides exception reporting as needed
- Develop simple programs and queries to support business functions and customer requests
- With some assistance, provides data to PSE departments either on a regular and/or ad hoc basis
- Run basic SQL queries and extracts data under the direction of an experienced or senior professional
- Do basic programming and maintenance of report forms and formats, information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end user information portals or resources
- Learn about Power BI functionality and create data driven insights from raw data in Power BI
- Collaborate with business users, systems analysts and development teams in defining, analyzing and interpreting business and technical requirements to set specifications for reporting solutions
- Stage and shape data from data sources into reporting and analytics solutions
- Assist the Power BI developer in building data models from requirements, including designing dimensional data models and fact tables
- Develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI and other reporting tools
- Assist in establishing and documenting best practices relating to enterprise data
- Provide assistance to other staff as needed and performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program focused in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Analytics/Science, or related field
- Strong academic standing (3.0 GPA or above)
- Familiarity and experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, and/or R
- Familiarity with ETL (extract, transform, load)
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts

Additional Information
- These are temporary positions between May/June and August/September 2023
- Internships will be around 80% remote and 20% onsite
- PSE internships are for current students
