Position Summary
This position reports to VP, Central Support and is responsible for analyzing complex data, financial reports, market data, operational workflows and processes, and other information sources to identify strategies, tactics, and improvements in overall retail operations with emphasis on digital ops and e-commerce. The role requires a high-performing analyst who can use both qualitative and quantitative analytical approaches to evaluate business opportunities within Operations and partner functions to effectively communicate analysis upwards and outwards. The position requires action-oriented critical thinkers with strong statistical and mathematical background that can translate problems or opportunities into data-driven actions. This highly dynamic role creates value by using highly versatile data mining of our portfolio, customer, and transactional data to generate innovative hypotheses to test, build solutions to develop and grow our portfolio, improve business processes to increase efficiencies in our operating model, and work closely with implementation teams to execute crafted strategies. Success also derives from cross-functional collaboration with Product Development, IT, Financial Planning and Analysis, Credit Risk, Customer Acquisition, and other partner functions supporting portfolio and profitability growth.
Job Responsibility
- Generate value through sophisticated statistical, financial, and qualitative analysis of omni-channel operations, synthesizing creative strategies to improve retail performance.
- Support acquisition and product strategies by leveraging operational and customer qualitative and quantitative data to ensure go-to-market excellence.
- Proactively drive initiatives that support breakthrough or innovative ways of operating storefront, online, or central support operations through deep data analysis and business process evaluation.
- Prepare and present creative, dynamic concepts, ideas, projects, and/or strategies to middle and senior level management through strong verbal, written, and visual communication.
- Provide strategic and day-to-day analytics, reporting, and insights for Operations functions, with emphasis on digital/e-commerce operations.
- Demonstrate extreme curiosity about business processes and customer experience to dive deeper and mine opportunities for increased profitability or improved efficiency. Have the courage to question steady-state processes, identify gaps in current operations, and offer insights to consider data-driven alternatives.
- Drive testing new ideas, models, and processes by collecting and analyzing results, challenging assumptions, and recommending logical next steps.
- Support financial planning and budgeting process, translating financial goals into operational success metrics and planned targets.
- Build and foster strong relationships with Finance, Enterprise Data, Business Intelligence, Collections, Customer Experience, Credit Risk, and Loss Prevention leaders and staff.
- Provide data stewardship for Operations, assisting data quality engineers as needed.
- Produce ad hoc reporting, analysis, and other data models skillfully as needed.

Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree or higher education in the fields of study of Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics and Statistical Analysis, Economics, Finance, Business Management, or Accounting. MBA or Master’s degree in the mentioned disciplines preferred but not required.
Experience Required
4+ years in retail operations or product analytics, digital sales or e-commerce operations and analytics, or similar management consulting roles required. Fintech, banking, or direct-to-consumer lending industry experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge Required
- Can effectively transform ambiguous or undefined problem statements into clear objectives and solutions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with ability to state complex problems in simple terms. Must be able to present analysis and other presentations visually through modern techniques and common tele- and video-conferencing media as well as in person.
- Vision and agility to manage multiple projects from ideation through implementation.
- Able to lead teams and projects through strong influencing, negotiating, and servant-leadership skills.
- Strong data query skills using SQL query language through various SQL applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite of products. VBA experience is a plus.
- R, Python, or other statistical programming tool language experience highly recommended. Ability to apply advance analytical tools for use with both discreet datasets and via data lake environments. Snowflake, Google Analytics, and/or AWS data warehouse experience preferred but not required.
