Job Description:
The GPS tool launches in 2019, therefore this role will be instrumental in its initial success, as well as supporting a
longer term sustainable approach to data.
The purpose of this role is to manage the end-to-end data ingestion, harmonization and validation process from the
vendors to the downstream applications (Marketing Catalyst and GPS analytics and reporting tools), and support data
and process improvements.
The Marketing Effectiveness program requires Diageo to supply a range of internal and external data sources for the in-
scope markets, on a global basis. This includes:
Sales, retail, category size data (sourced from Nielsen, IRI and IWSR)
Internal financial data
Brand equity and Marketing campaign data
Market share
Campaign effectiveness metrics
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage the end-to-end process of data ingestion, validation and harmonization, and interface to the
applications
Identify opportunities for improvement to the processes
Manage data delivery plans with vendors and manage issue resolution
Manage the updates to the data refresh plan and align with the relevant stakeholders, including; Strategic
Module, Growth Driver Module, Growth Driver master list
Update the matrix of data ownership, and list of providers
Deliver the harmonization and validation approach for repeatable and predictable results
Create data quality reports
Report on status and escalate data issues
Manage the launch of new countries or new data sources
Support Consumer data governance manager during the implementation of data improvement plans
Comply with Diageo controls and governance
Qualifications & experience
Knowledge of relevant data domain management processes and underlying data. This could be depth of
experience in one of the data sources above (e.g. sales, retail, category size data), or breadth across
sources.
Graduate, preferably with 1-3 years of Data or Business Intelligence experience, either within Diageo or
another consumer goods company (or equivalent in consultancy).
Knowledge of the methods and techniques for driving good data quality with evidence of putting into
practice
Evidence of working effectively within a team
Evidence of the ability to work, make decisions and meet deadlines both independently and as part of a
team
****RELEVANT SKILLS/PC SKILLS/SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE****
Strong verbal and written communications
Structured problem-solving skills
Analytical mind-set and attention to detail
Strong Excel skills are essential, together with SQL experience
Advantage: technical expertise with the Azure reference architecture: ADF, Data bricks Spark, Python,
Data warehouse, AAS
Advantage: knowledge of and experience with BI (business intelligence) tools such as PowerBI

English, fluent

Flexible working hours is required at closes and might be required on some occasions to meet tight
deadlines
