ABOUT THE TEAM:
Responsible for developing a strategic plan for departmental quality, including requirements, testing, test automation, and test methodology. Responsible for leading the effort to document and test web applications from product inception, through testing and release. Responsibilities include all aspects of test planning, test development and test execution. Collaborate with various product groups and design teams to oversee and participate in the writing of project/test plan documentation. Develop metrics for measurement of test results and implement as appropriate. Work with other departments to provide status updates/reports throughout the testing process. Lead and mentor other team members including remote staff. Help to define standards and processes for the team and product.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
- 6+ years web testing and minimum of 4 years test automation
- Participate in requirements definition meetings with design team
- Review site/application requirement documents and develop metrics for assessing compliance of delivered products to those requirements
- Participate in design walkthroughs and prototyping
- Review requirement specifications and technical design documents to ensure metrics can be measured
- Design, write and fulfill test plans and test scripts
- Determine nature of testing to be performed and identify tasks that should be manual vs. those that can be automated
- Construct test scripts to facilitate the execution of test cases
- Perform all dimensions of testing, including performance, integration and system-level testing
- Provide input/status updates regarding test progress/results
- Assist with setup and installation of test platforms
- Participate in the Alpha and Beta testing of company products and applications
- Assist product and development groups in resolving technical issues (e.g. design, links)
- Report and maintain software defects of defect management system
- Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of QA engineers
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s in computer science or an Engineering required; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 8 years software quality assurance testing as part of a formal QA test organization
- 6+ years web testing and minimum of 4 years test automation
- Exposure to internet development languages preferred
- Experience with SQL queries a plus Excellent analytical skills
- Experience testing web-based applications
- Demonstrated project and team leadership skills
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Excellent proofreading, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to change direction and reprioritize abruptly
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a focused, fast-paced team environment
- Schedule will be flexible to allow for after-normal-business-hours work with remote teams, testing production releases and other QA testing as needed
