Position Summary
Reporting to IT Applications Director, this position is responsible to create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. They should have an analytical mindset, excellent communication, problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to self-direct. Ultimately, you will enhance our business intelligence system to help us make better decisions.
Key Job Requirements
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Developing reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision making.
- Create and maintain new and existing BI models.
- Evaluate and improve existing BI systems and solutions.
- Create technical documentation to support BI Solutions content, concepts, mappings, technologies, and techniques.
- Develop and maintain interfaces between BI systems and BI services.
- Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses upon request.
- Participate in the design, development, and analysis of BI data architecture and BI solutions.
- Proved learning materials / training for users that use the BI Model or tools.
- Provides quality customer service with every customer interaction.
- Assists supervisor to streamline daily support procedures.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasional travel – local and US Red Lion facilities
- Office environment with minimal lifting requirements (40 lbs.)
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2 years of experience with Data ETL (SQL, SSIS, M, DAX, etc.)
- Data Modeling
- 2 years of experience in Report Visualizations (SSRS, Power BI, Excel)
- Strong mathematics skills
- Automation & Scripting skills (BASH, PowerShell, Python, .Net, etc.)
- Work independently / Lead collaborations.
- Strong learning / self-teaching abilities
- Analyze complex issues and plan uses/issues/outcomes.
- Use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Familiarity with project management tools
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills (oral & written)
- Ability to function and contribute in a team environment
Preferred Requirements
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
