Position Summary
The Banner Business Analyst works with student-focused departments across the University to understand and help optimize those departments’ business processes. The position’s primary goal is to drive student success by assisting those departments in becoming more efficient and effective in using the Ellucian Banner Student system.
The Banner Business Analyst is also responsible for interpreting and synthesizing stakeholder needs to produce reports and visualizations using Blackboard Analytics and Pyramid tools, as well as providing technical administration of those tools. The position may also be tasked with additional enterprise application projects and systems troubleshooting as needed.
This is a full time, at will, exempt position. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise Application.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Three or more years of experience with the Ellucian Banner Student system
- Minimum three or more years of programming / analysis / reporting experience and/or training.
- Experience with Oracle programming skills SQL and PL/SQL and reporting.
- Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills an attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Minimum Qualifications
Working technical and functional knowledge of the Ellucian Banner Student system, data reporting, analysis skills and process review, planning, implementation and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on knowledge of the technical and functional Ellucian Banner (non-student modules) and the Ellucian suite of products.
- Degree Works, EAB Navigate experience.
- Reporting experience with Blackboard Analytics, Pyramid and eVisions Argos.

Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds)
