The Roles
Rystad Energy is seeking enthusiastic and skillful data analyst with strong abilities within data science and/or algorithm development and implementation to join our Analyst Team. We are constantly improving and expanding our coverage of energy transition effects and real time data analysis, and these new roles will form integral pieces of this ongoing development. The foundation of our products is high volume of factual data combined with sophisticated in-house data management systems and forecasting tools modeling physical and market mechanisms governing the global energy systems and commodity markets.
We are looking for Data Analysts who will be key resources in the following research areas:
- Modeling of the Global Energy Systems to complement products covering various aspects of the Energy Transition
- Translate client needs into technical requirements together with Product Managers and Analysts
- Build systems for capturing, structuring, and storing data, including gathering, storing and updating in SQL databases. Data gathering is often done through developing Python scripts for data gathering of publicly available information
- Develop data models for forecasting using system dynamics, multiple regression and other types of modeling techniques and statistical methods based on product needs
- Participate in the general research, product development and client facing activities of the respective product teams
Experience And Skills
We are looking for motivated candidates with a strong academic track record, analytical mindset as well as software development skills to strengthen our capacity within in-house
modeling.
- University degree (Master or Bachelor) within Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics or similar
- Demonstrated knowledge of Python and/or C# is important
- Demonstrated knowledge of database design and SQL programming is an advantage
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques is an advantage
- Proactive, independent, open-minded and creative
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, and strong multi-tasker
- Good English skills, both verbal and written
- A positive person with strong motivation to personally develop and contribute to the company’s development and growth
