About the Team
The Shared Services Center (SSC) is a multidisciplinary unit crafted to provide services and support to the greater pre-sales organization. The SSC is comprised of three team pillars: Operational Excellence (OpEx), Content & Comms, Data Platform & Analytics (DPA).
About the Role
This is an exciting role for someone to demonstrate their technical skills in Python and SQL to build robust reporting, analytical, and machine learning capabilities using Redshift, dbt, EMR, Fivetran, Tableau, Apache Superset, Snowflake etc.
Success in this role hinges on your technical proficiency and quantitative abilities: you know how to plow through data with dbt, perform analysis in Python with the right levels of abstraction for code reuse, and measure business performance by efficiently calculating key performance indicators.
This role will play a critical role in the continued evolution of our products and programs, guiding us to focus in the right areas to deliver maximum impact. You will be responsible for bringing our data strategy to life, focusing on insights to gain a better understanding of our users’ behaviours, and how that directly or indirectly impacts sales. You will work as part of a highly skilled and complementary team to deliver innovative projects to support our technical sales organisation and ultimately drive scale.
In addition you will:

assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods

conduct research from which you’ll develop prototypes and proof of concepts

Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data

Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns; evaluate and develop recommendations

Combine models through ensemble modeling

Present information using data visualisation techniques

Support program managers and product owners in defining success metrics and our ability to measure

Take the lead on recommendations and setup of analytics tools and dashboards for products
-
Work with team members throughout the organization to find opportunities for using company data to drive business solutions.

Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.

Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.

Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.
-
Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.

Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and supervise outcomes.

Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Data Scientist Requirements:

Validated experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst
-
Experience in data mining
-
Understanding of machine-learning and operations research
-
Proven record of end-to-end experience in building analytical frameworks to advise business strategy

Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and proficiency in Tableau or other BI tools

Experience with dbt to build Data Pipelines in Redshift/Snowflake
-
Experience with building data visualizations with Tableau, Apache Superset, Looker or other BI tools
-
Familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset

A related technical degree required.
