Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science, business, or related field from an accredited institution. Three years relevant experience in directly related field is required. Expertise in eliciting and documenting business requirements through use cases, user stories, and other means (including workflow diagrams, dataflow diagrams, screen wireframes, and other similar artifacts). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs. Capable of unpacking ambiguous business requirements with excellent prioritization, time management abilities, and a focus on execution. Able to lead priorities, timelines, and deadlines effectively and proactively. Solid understanding of Agile/iterative product development methodology. A combination of education, experience, certifications, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Seeks to deeply understand the campus business ecosystem, the organization’s overall product and development efforts, and how value flows through the organization to students. Actively collaborates with business analyst team, project managers, analysts, UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and acts as the interface and advocate between the business and development teams. Conducts interviews, workshops, and observations with campus functional teams and software system owners to develop and continuously improve processes and workflows. Proactively identifies process and technology needs of campus, gathers complex requirements, and assists with project prioritization.
Primary Responsibilities
Analyzes business or scientific problems for resolution through electronic data processing. Gathers information from users and defines work problems. Elicits requirements from complex functional processes for projects and in support of current applications. Collaborates with functional and Campus Products and Relationships staff to generate complex process-level documentation. Works to discover functional area needs with other Campus Products and Relationships staff to create functional requirements and priorities. Coordinates end-user testing creates related documentation and process maps and ensures programs and reports function efficiently. Determines needs and develops test plans for campus applications and services. Develops a comprehensive understanding of fundamental business processes for a given area. Identifies project tasks and needs for projects in which Campus Products and Relationships is a stakeholder. Coordinates with other Campus Products and Relationships staff in determining solution specifications. Translates technical requirements to functional staff members in effective manner. Works within a team to understand and assess campus needs, in order to provide effective, customer-centric solutions. Uses low-code/no-code tools to build solutions. May use SQL to support ERP processes, reporting, and other third-party applications. Reviews training materials and evaluates appropriateness to training needs. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within department work group and with department heads. Independently identifies and reports areas of process improvements. Interprets and applies complex policies and broad standards affecting one or more functional areas. Work requires a considerable level of judgment and reasoning to solve issues. Work requires attention to detail as errors can be serious.
Up to 60% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
