Who You Are:

You are a dynamic Real World Data (RWD) Privacy Lead who is committed to ensuring that all citizen and patient data collected and used at Sanofi is protected, and our work complies with all applicable data protection legislation. You will improve our management of potentially sensitive information, carry out regular internal security audits, and act as the main point of contact for RWD privacy topics involving the Digital Data Office. As an expert in privacy, you will promote a culture of data protection compliance within the organization through direct communication, training sessions and workshops. You have keen attention to detail and take the time to understand our stakeholders’ data privacy needs and challenges. You continually seek to improve your knowledge of new technologies and industry standards related to privacy so that we can drive the development of simple, yet effective solutions. You enjoy partnering with stakeholders to design and implement data privacy best practices and procedures. You are a self-starter, see challenges as opportunities, and are results oriented. Job Highlights:

  • Serve as the Digital RWD data privacy and protection expert and primary point of contact for all Digital RWD Data team members, and Digital Teams working with RWD.
  • Liaise with Sanofi global, local, and other functional data privacy teams on best practices and ways of working.
  • Provide the RWD perspective on company-wide protection and privacy initiatives led by the global, local, and functional privacy teams.
  • Ensure digital data collection policies and processes are in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and regional codes of practice in EU and North America
  • Develop and coordinate RWD protection and privacy training plans and provide training sessions and workshops for Digital RWD team members
  • Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the digital data organization
  • Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues
  • Maintain records of all RWD processing activities carried out by the organization
  • Collaborate with ITS Security to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, investigations, and acts as a liaison to the ITS department.
  • Contribute to the Sanofi RWD data privacy strategy, ensuring the corporate polices represent and reflect the Digital RWD needs and use cases
  • Effectively communicate and present to senior leadership with information/updates on privacy matters.
  • Draft informed consent agreements to be used in the deployment of digital applications and products
  • Ensure that Digital RWD maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials that reflect the organization’s policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of data protection principles.
  • Baccalaureate’s degree and a Minimum of three years of experience working in data protection compliance or a related field
  • JD or equivalent degree from an accredited university, minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
  • Expertise in North American data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the HIPAA and state-level laws
  • Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department
