Designs and develops enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions against data warehouse repositories and has extensive knowledge about the workings and implementation of Business Objects Enterprise toolsets. This individual also leads small reporting projects and mentors other developers. This position requires an individual with strong business acumen and an ability to communicate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
System Administration
- Understands business requirements, determines implementation strategy and translates into reports that sustain current needs and support future growth.
- Creates technical design specifications and develops analytical reports using Crystal Reports or other Business Objects reporting tools.
- Proactive participation in collecting and communicating universe requirements to the data architects.
- Effectively communicates with other team members to exchange information, ideas and answer inquiries.
- Develops a cooperative environment that fosters knowledge sharing and encourages innovation.
End User Support
- Collaborates proactively with functional users, analysts and other team members to gather business requirements.
- Troubleshoots and resolve technical issues. Debug, tune and optimize report performance.
- Analyzes and modifies existing reports as per change requests.
EDUCATIONAL/Experience/MINIMUM Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of IT experience with core expertise in designing and developing data warehouses and data marts
- Three (3) years of experience working with and administering an ETL tool
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Business Objects Enterprise XI Web Intelligence, Voyager and ad-hoc reporting experience.
- Strong advanced SQL writing skills (transaction, definition and control functions) and relational database knowledge (tables, keys, dimensional models, etc.), preferably with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database and Analysis Services engines.
- Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio) experience a must.
- Experience with highly demanding business requirements.
- Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated accuracy with reports and projects, analytical aptitude, and strong attention to detail are required.
- Strong teamwork, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
