Job Location: Branchville, NJ
The Information Management BI Administration Team Leader leads a team of system administrators. His/her duties include team leadership and coordination; project management and task level activities. He/she may lead major system-related projects; handle team issues; collaborate with IT partners to accomplish goals; or assist his manager with tasks required for the team or department. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Develops and maintains productive working relationships with management, project sponsors, key systems users, end-users, and IT partners.
- Leads and guides a team of system administrators, planning training, work assignments, priorities, schedules and day-to-day activities. Monitors team member work performance.
- Leads and guides the system administrators in detailed design, implementation, maintenance and support activities for IM software and application platforms in production and non-production environments.
- Works with enterprise and IM architects to develop vision and advance data and analytics platform capabilities.
- Performs the duties of an Application Specialist, as required, assessing alternative systems approaches for workability and economic feasibility, designing and implementing systems to specifications, and develop/coordinate project plans, and reviews documentation and assures it is complete, acceptable, and in accordance with standards.
- Prepares regular status reports.
- Ensures deliverables are on-time and of high quality.
- Resolves and/or escalates technical and project delivery issues.
- Drives process improvements within the team and across the department to improve efficiency and quality.
- Acts as a key contributor in planning and estimation of projects.
Requirements
- Have the ability to work well with people with varying technical abilities.
- Have strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with stakeholders at many organizational levels and of various levels of technical expertise.
- Have successfully accomplished (but not limited to) the duties listed in the preceding level.
- Have an admin/support mindset, enjoy customer support type of work.
- Have proven problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Be able to stay calm and level-headed in a crisis situation, while others around him/her may not.
- Be comfortable leading a hybrid team of employees & consultants (onsite/offshore, remote, multiple office locations).
- Have a proven history of owning and taking accountability for leading others to complete complex deliverables.
- Be organized and a logical thinker.
- Have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and adapt easily to changing priorities and timelines.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field. Minimum 7 years of IT experience, preferably a portion in systems administration or architecture.
- Experience in ITIL, incident and problem management.
- Experience in administration of software platforms such as Informatica and Cognos.
- Experience in administration Cloud platforms such as MS Azure, Databricks/Synapse/Snowflake, IICS, Power BI preferred, including metrics and metering.
- Experience migrating to any of these cloud platforms is preferred.
- Experience with Devops, automation a plus.
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodology a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage many stakeholders at all levels from across the organization.
