Role Description:
The Network Security Analyst requires 3-5 years of experience performing network security assessments and risk analysis. The Network Security Analyst recommends and installs appropriate security products to network platforms to ensure a secure environment. Configures and maintains firewalls and other network security tools.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying potential threats and managing resolutions of security violations
- Changing, upgrading, and patching boundary devices
- In-depth knowledge and abilities to design, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot most implementations based on the Palo Alto Networks platform
- Maintain and operate Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) while also troubleshooting and correcting IPS induced service issues
- Using government-provided network monitoring tools to perform intrusion detection, identification, and internal/external IT threat analysis
- Understanding of Wireshark and in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and network/protocol analysis for troubleshooting communications, network optimization, network forensics, and security.
- Monitoring and employing hardware and software tools to enhance network security
Qualifications:
Clearance: Secret
Certifications:
- IAT II (Security+ce or equivalent)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer Certification (PCNSE)
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Additional 4 years of relevant experience considered in lieu of education (Associates degree = 2 years, Additional Applicable Certifications = 1 year)
Experience:
- 3-5 years of of relevant experience
- Willingness to support a 24/7 enterprise environment
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a military/DoD (USAF) environment
- TS Clearance
- CCNA Certification
