Job Description
As an ITAM Data & Process Analyst, job is to interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve business process and business decisions. Data Analyst will gather information from various sources and interpret patterns and trends such as computer refresh planning/EOL analysis, comparative software products in-use, etc. which will help identify cost savings and/or time savings opportunities. Once data has been gathered and interpreted, Data Analyst will report back what has been found in a comprehensive study to the wider business and relevant colleagues.
In addition, this includes maintaining the software and hardware process portfolio throughout its life cycle, from acquisition through final disposition, maintain compliance, software renewals, life cycle planning and processes, cost optimization, and working with partners to ensure timely delivery of software and hardware assets to enable our business process to function in a seamless and secure manner. Analyst must have the ability to research hardware and software process trends.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to, supporting the following activities:
- Collecting, interpreting data, and reporting the results back to the business.
- Identifying patterns and trends in data sets. Defining new data collection to analysis processes and define continuous process improvements.
- Providing reporting (scheduled and ad hoc) as need to support the ITAM Governance activities.
- Submitting purchase requests for new assets and related supplies as needed.
- Responsible for software and hardware asset and process portfolio with respect to acquisition, request fulfillment under SLA, utilization, tracking, compliance, and final disposition of assets.
- Maintaining an inventory of assets within the appropriate management systems and ensure assets are properly documented (i.e., serial number, asset tag, name, etc.).
- Responsible to work with business stakeholders to successfully manage and maintain the data integrity and completeness of the IT asset inventories (Hardware and Software Databases).
- Working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs.
- Acts as a liaison between the development and operations teams to communicate changes and expected issues in production environment for asset management.
- Participation in defining requirements, processes and procedures and automation opportunities for asset acquisition, asset management and asset disposal strategies for the enterprise.
- Responsible to collect information for budgeting, software compliance and inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisons.
- Responsible for analysis that assists with the management of maintenance, support, and license renewals in advance of their expiration.
- Responsible for reporting/analyzing software installations versus software licenses.
- Coordinating with the enterprise procurement and accounting areas and vendors on ordering, receiving, and invoicing of IT assets.
- Providing support to IT and Legal areas in the contract management areas of RFI/RFP, vendor selection, and contract administration for assets.
Qualifications
- 5+ years hands on Hardware and Software process experience.
- Experience in data models and reporting packages
- Ability to analyze large datasets and write comprehensive reports.
- Demonstrated ability to use ServiceNow platform.
- Broad knowledge of IT Asset Management best practices and Discovery tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks/projects to required deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and Proven researching ability.
- Effective judgement in prioritizing and time allocation.
- Builds Trust, Innovate and problem-solving skills.
