The Role
Job Purpose:
The Data Quality Engineer is an Information Management (IM) professional responsible part of run & maintain(R&M) and to monitor the data quality and aasurance of Technical data sources specific to the Shell Asset. This role should pro-actively monitors and assure the data quality of various existing doc/data sources.
Some of the tasks are: Internal auditing plan based on the Data quality standard and validate data before connecting to the future Digital Twin solution.
Business Dimensions:
The role is expected to support key stakeholders like Site process/data focal points, Plant change managers, Project managers, and EPC IM counterparts for day to day operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Act as run & maintain (R&M) data quality focal point for specific site and support data interface activity related to Digital Twin visualization/concepts.
- Review and update procedures related to document and data quality standard where applicable.
- Analysis amd proactively identify the data inconsistency/quallity with different system/process and align the consistent way of working by collobrating with disciplines and initiate the change request wherever required.
- Provide internal support to Doc-Data team regarding data issues and to resolve.
- Strong understanding about the fundamentals of mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation and process disciplines.
- Execute annual reviews on documents / data in line with the annual Information management audit plan.
- Execute regular data reviews on selected data sets, initially to be aimed at Digital Backbone implementation.
- Collobration between assets in terms of support each other in the process.
Key Challenges:
- Shift work following operating hours of the operation units across the globe.
- Virtual working with key stakeholders like Site process/data focal points, Project managers, Plant change managers, and EPC counterparts for day to day operations.
- A self-starter and reliable deliverer, with good verbal and written skills in English.
- Exposes the individual to all cultural backgrounds and organizational levels across the globe, across diverse time zones.
- The role primarily involves the remote support to the Shell operating units/sites in the information/drawing management & updates.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Education/Experience:
At least 5-7 years’ experience working in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry.: – Instrumentation/Mechanical/ Electrical & Instrumentation
- Skill in software tools like ASSAI / AIM-EDMS, GSAP
- Knowledge in Digital Twin Visualization and Data interface concepts.
- Awareness in software tool like Inspection Management System (IMS), SPI, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA E&I, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA E3D
- Skill in Microsoft 365 application or other tools that will be used for data analysis purpose.
- Skill in MS Excel with advanced experiences with Macros/VBAs/Formulas.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Power platforms/ Python/ SQL/ Alteryx.
- Knowing how to create process improvement tools using coding/no-coding software application is an added advantage.
- Strong affinity/interest to data analytics.
- Experienced in identification and automation of data validation rules.
