The Role
Planning and Strategy
- Transforms business needs into opportunities, brings in creative solutions as well as producing methodologies and files for effective SSW Data Management.
- Organizing and planning project from inception to completion with effective risk management practices
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the team of Data Quality team, who are responsible for managing and delivering the DQDB application.
- Experience of designing, analysing and implementing WRFM DQDB metrics to improve processes.
- Capable of managing WRFM DQDB R&M team responsible for fixing application issues. Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Embedding a strong data management culture within the organisation
- Work with WRFM DQDB focal to share data and findings
- Drive the overall data quality function of the application to include data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment of data required to support
- Leverages intermediate data management knowledge to maintain and define data quality and metadata processes, participates in development of data quality rules, thresholds, and standard metrics/quality-expectations for data elements that support critical business catalogue
- Capacity to think strategically
- Drive the Data Quality Issues root case analysis through using a framework and identification of the SMEs in the many different functions to drive firmwide strategic solutions and timely remediation
- Report key data quality metrics to the stakeholders
- Help optimise processes, for example, automation of existing manual processes
- Interact with business Stakeholders to identify key challenges, and identify how DQDB scores can be improved
- Ensuring the dashboard and visualizations provide actionable insights that business leaders and stakeholder can easily understand and use to make effective strategic decisions
- Deliver high-quality Data Quality dashboard Projects by Adhering to the Industry and Shell standards
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Manage team workload, providing clear visibility, ensuring the right staffs are available to work on various Data Quality projects
- Handling the CIN connects with WRFM core team
- Running the Product connect, and core team connect along with project manager
- Acting as business analyst to bring new insights to the dashboard
- Helping team to remodel the existing data model and to simply the data to get the insights
- Supporting the team on technical (SQL/PLSQL/PowerBI) and functional challenges
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields from accredited University. Having a degree in Petroleum background would be an advantage
- Overall, 10+ years of experience in Data Quality-related roles with respect to Data management and reporting
- 7+ years of working experience as a team lead or manager role related to Data warehousing, data management and Data Quality
- Deep expertise in gathering the Business rule requirement gathering and converting the Business rules into logical queries to get the DQ out of it.
- Experience analysing data and effectively communicating findings that clearly address strategic business questions
- Expert level proficiency in Oracle SQL/PLSQL & knowledge in BI tools such as Spotfire, Power BI etc.
- High proficiency in Data Quality framework, Data Modelling, Data Warehousing and ETL designing concepts
- Prior Experience working with senior business stakeholders to understand the requirements and translating into actionable tasks to the team
- Proactively analyze and come up with new insights to improve Shell asset operations
- Proven ability to come up with creative and practical solutions to complex business problems
- Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
- Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform data quality
- Experience in Azure databricks & DevOps
- Project management skills to plan reasonable and realistic project timelines and obtain agreement among stakeholders
- Experience dealing with large complex data sets across multiple sources using various Data Quality projects
- Excellent knowledge in IQM tool
- Confidence in delivering accurate data quality scores that drives critical business decisions
- Experience working in various delivery models such as waterfall and Agile Methodology
- Ability to independently, resourcefully, and creatively research and implement new solutions
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills with people from all levels and from different cultural backgrounds
- Experience in working with technical data management community
- Good knowledge in epicure architecture
