We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join the Tools & Self Serve Analytics team. This team at Shipt is core to accelerate data-driven decision making at Shipt by robust reporting based on curated, trustworthy and validated data. We have rich, complex datasets collected in a multi-sided marketplace and our team performs a wide variety of tasks of those datasets, ranging from conducting ad-hoc research, creating dashboards, crafting complex database queries and ETL pipelines. The ideal candidate will be data-driven, intellectually curious, and a clear communicator.

Your Responsibilities
As a member of Tools & Self Serve Analytics team, you will be developing, maintaining and supporting:
- Design and build certified data sources to enable self-serve analytics through BI reporting tool (i.e. Tableau)
- Work closely with Analytics Governance team to ensure the best Data Governance practices are in place for whatever we do
- Work closely with BI Engineering team to get curated, trustworthy and validated data to support self-serve analytics capabilities
- Design dashboards and data visualizations to communicate meaningful metrics to different audiences within the business
- Find opportunities for improvement across the business and assist in decision-making across teams
Requirements
- 2+ years in BI Engineering and/or Data Engineering
- Strong eye for detail.
- Strong SQL skills (Snowflake, Postgres, Redshift, DataBricks, etc).
- Experience with a statistical scripting language (e.g., R or Python.)
- Experience with a data visualization tool (Tableau, Chartio, Looker, Spotfire, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration framework
- Code-base ownership (PR review/approval, code standards,etc)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment and communicate results to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with data analysis and turning data into insights and recommendations is a plus
- A Bachelor’s Degree in CS, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience
