The Senior Data Analyst serves as a developer for data extract, transform and load processes, primarily for use in the data warehouse or for reporting and analytics. This role is focused on transforming source system input data to a star schema / dimensional model output reliably and at scale. There is a large focus on data quality, deduplication, end-to-end data flows and placing business logic in the appropriate layer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and comprehend change specifications from Business Analysts, management, and business stakeholders as appropriate
- Develop solutions using, primarily SQL, in order to achieve success criteria outlined in specifications
- Estimating work complexity and timeframes based on specifications
- Actively participate in code reviews, retrospectives and demos
- Do initial testing to verify code functionality and correctness according to specifications
- Understand ETL solutions tradeoffs for indexing, uniqueness, parallelism, and data dependencies
- Be tier 2 support for existing production code
- Maintain and update tasks and user stories to update progress in an agile project
- Acquires and maintains application expertise through certification and educational programs.
- Provides user support, including researching issues, determining options for resolution as needed.
- Complies with bank policies as applicable to this position.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations.
- Ability to write simple-to-business correspondence, routine reports, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively speak, respond to questions, and present information to the following: one-on-one /small groups, customers, employees, clients, managers, top management, public groups, board of directors, and the general public.
Education and/or Experience
- BS/BA Degree (four year) from an accredited university/college OR
- Two to four years of experience as an ETL developer
Computer Skills
- Experienced with SQL and data warehousing, particularly star schema models
- Microsoft Azure Synapse, Data Factory, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, or similar tools
- Experience with cloud based data warehouse platforms a plus
- Git source control and Agile methodology preferred
- Power BI or similar tools highly preferred
- Some Python experience preferred
- R, SAS or other relevant experience in data analytics is a plus
- C#, Java, or similar programming experience a plus
- MS Office programs
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Microsoft Azure certifications a plus
Other Qualifications (including physical requirements)
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and planning skills with the ability to set priorities.
- Comfortable interacting with co-workers in virtual environments such as MS Teams or Zoom
- General banking knowledge preferred.
