Roles and Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities
– To document requirement, test cases, datasets in support of data integrations.
– To perform data analysis, create data flow, entity relation and UML diagrams.
– To execute SQL queries to understand data.
– To develop working relationship with data providers and consumers.
– To manage book-of-work of data related requests, provide status and work with technology team to deliver solutions.
– To prepare and present weekly/monthly status reports to stakeholders and technology management.
– To interact with business and technology stakeholders and various development, engineering and support teams.
– To Catalog datasets and maintain data dictionary, using firm systems, including Collibra.
– To setup, manage and support data quality controls for datasets, using Collibra-Owl and other available systems.
– To maintain and optimize data quality scores, identify cause of score degradation, work with data owners and technology teams to remediate any DQ issues.
– To assist with data consumers and downstream system teams with any question related to supported datasets.
– To provide assistance and guidance during the QA & UAT phases to quickly confirm the validity of potential issues and to determine the root cause and best resolution of verified issues.
Qualifications
Skill Set
– SQL Experience
– Ability to create and understand E-R and UML data models (conceptual, logical and physical)
– Experience working on Data Governance and related functions (lifecycle, quality, security, etc.).
– Very Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all levels.
– Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
– Self starter. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with minimal supervision. Can manage a complex ever changing priority list and resolve conflicts to competing priorities.
– Understanding of the Financial Services industry and content lifecycle relating to Risk, Regulatory, Audit and Knowledge Management needs is a plus
– Strong problem solving skills. Ability to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to business objectives, requirements and priorities.
– Overall technical understanding of data warehousing and other multi-tiered, distributed applications/systems.
– Preferred experience with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
Desired Technical Skills:
– Visualization tool : Tableau, Power BI, etc.
– DB2/Greenplum Databases
Qualifications/Criterion
– Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relevant technical degree.
– More than 5 years of work experience as data or business analyst.
