Title : Data Engineer

The Data Engineer works closely with the Digital & Business Analytics Directors, Data Scientist, and Solutions Architects on large scale implementations or projects. The incumbent is responsible for solving business problems through applying analytics tools and skills; configuring automation; curating and integrating data sets; developing data models and algorithms that make data more useful to the enterprise. They also work with IT to identify the right data sources for data acquisition and curation of data sets. This requires deep knowledge of database design, data integration tools and methods, analytical and digital programming languages. Data engineer is encouraged to approach problems with innovation and deliver platforms that enable the analysts to perform their job.
Responsibilities:

50% – Responsible for creating and maintaining an efficient data pipeline architecture; Assembling large, sophisticated data sets that meet business requirements; Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements; automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redefining infrastructure for scalability

20%- Work with Data Analyst to build analytics tools that apply the data pipeline to deliver concrete insights into business portfolio management, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics. Use tool skills to build machine learning and natural languages algorithms and processes to analyse data sets.

20% – Build governance processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.

10% – Support the operations team for running data migrations, fixing data issues, maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning activities

Desired candidate Profile :

Min Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or similar field.

Min 3+ years of relevant work experience in the field of Data Engineering, Data Science or Data Architecture.

Candidate should have experience in ETL (Extraction, Transfer & Loading), Data Modelling , Data traction, etc. Should also have experience in handling large data Volumes.

Should have advance experience in SQL & SQL Server , SSIS , Python, R, or Informatica . Should understand SQL Integration . Understanding of Relational databases Like SQL & oracle

Knowledge or experience in Snowflake or Alteryx or Data factory is good to have.

Understanding of cloud native data ingestion applications is preferred.

Understanding of Power BI / Tableau is good to have.

Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ pipelines, architectures and data sets along with a Solid understanding of API’s, message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores

A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected data sets

Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, JAVA

Experience with Machine Learning & Natural Language Processing (NLP): R programming ; Aera Proprietary Skill

Working experience with internet technologies: SaaS, PaaS, IaaS

Familiarity with SDLC and agile methodologies
