Our more than 30 programs throughout the District provide comprehensive services that lead to mental and physical health, continued sobriety, job training, living-wage employment, and affordable housing. Position Description: The Business Planning Analyst will assist the Director of Business Planning and Analysis through analytical support that improves the way in which we manage our costs, drive revenue and deliver high-caliber outcomes. The analyst will build a strong partnership with program areas to bridge the gap between financial and operational goals. This position will be responsible for supporting planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities across the agency; including financial analysis of actuals, creation of forecasts and budgets as well as any regular ad-hoc analysis required to support the mission.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field; 5 years experience in financial or business analysis, Business Planning Analyst
Preferred: MBA; 5-7 years experience in financial or business analysis

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and performance reporting processes and procedures as well as costing/profitability methodologies.
- Knowledge of common business and cost drivers, financial statement analysis, and deep-dive analysis experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and concurrent projects across agency programs.
- Advanced knowledge of financial accounting systems and dedicated budgeting/reporting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel (financial modeling and analytical techniques) and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated work well with limited supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Expected Contributions:
- Provide advanced analytical support in a broad range of finance functions including but not limited to long-range and annual planning, budgeting, and performance reporting. This includes assisting in the creation, maintenance, and population of various budgeting/planning templates and files for analysis, distribution, and recommendations for management.
- Aid the Director of BP&A in the preparation of documentation and analysis for monthly/quarterly/annual Shared Financial Management meetings and business performance reviews including the creation of dashboards, scorecards, and other performance reports that provide insight into the delivery of our mission and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Program Managers to proactively identify possible scenarios, risks, and opportunities to improve operating efficiencies, manage costs and grow reimbursement and profitability.
- Assist in the development and establishment of a Capital Asset Management Plan and Program for the agency.
