The Long Term Acute Care (LTCH) Division of Sonoma Specialty Hospital is designed to provide care of medically complex patients who have experienced catastrophic illness and/or multi-system failure and are in need of intense rehabilitation services and an extended stay in an acute care setting. These patients usually come directly from a Short Term Acute Care Hospital (STCH) and are in need of vent weaning and acute rehabilitation services for a longer period of time to recover and return to their optimal level of health. The average length of stay (ALOS) of these patients is a range of 25-35 days which is a longer than average stay at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Care for these types of patients is provided by RNs, Respiratory Therapists, Wound Care Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists. Also a collaborative team of specialty physicians, psychologists, dieticians, and social workers will focus on an individualized goal for each patient to recover and reach their independence and optimum level of health.is a missing piece in the continuum of care within the health care system.

Job Summary:

The Junior Healthcare Business Analyst (JHBA) is responsible for implementation, coordination, and monitoring of continuous quality improvement plans for Sonoma Specialty Hospital (SSH). The JHBA will provide technical assistance, quality assurance, and quality improvement to the Quality Director and SSH leadership. With direction and support from the Quality Director, the JHBA will, assist with education on quality improvement methodologies or framework, develop and implement quality improvement initiatives for SSH, and assist the Quality Director in monitoring and reporting on quality improvement outcomes for SSH. The JHBA will also collaborate with the Quality Team, the Clinical Educator and Hospital Leadership to coordinate trainings, data collection, and reporting activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Policy Review Cycles – Must be experienced using MS-Word and Adobe Acrobat DC.
  • Support Data Reporting activities for process improvement.
  • Facilitating and managing meetings.
  • Create quality related reports, spreadsheets, PivotTables in Word and Excel.
  • Design process flow charts and organizational charts for the Quality Department and the Facility.
  • Taking and documenting Meeting minutes.
  • Attend all relevant committee and departmental meetings.
  • Serve as a positive, proactive voice for SSH’s Quality Team.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Quality Director and Hospital Administration.

Education, Training, Licenses, and Experience:

  • Associates Degree Required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two Years minimum of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum one year of working directly with Process Improvement concepts/tools utilizing metrics and benchmarks which resulted in sustained improvements in Health Care.
  • Certifications in Process Improvement preferred.

  • Knowledgeable about data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • A strong team player who is also a self-starter with a desire to take on new challenges.
  • Have strong computer literacy; proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and web/data management products.

Pay: $54,067.39 – $119,534.06 per year
