The Maintenance & Inspection (M&I) Strategy department within the Asset Performance is responsible for understanding current SCE M&I programs and will leverage data from asset failures, M&I trends, and other critical data points to validate strategic benefits from existing M&I programs and/or identify drivers for strategic change. The Data Analytics, Senior Specialist will be responsible for supporting the M&I Strategy team for any data request to effectively perform M&I trending analysis. This includes, but not limited to coordinating with Data Science and Data Visualization team(s) to support with dashboard or risk/predictive model development to effectively evaluate Asset Performance.

- Provide, analyze, and interpret data in support of asset and operational strategy development.
- Provide data and analytical support for M&I strategies team for evaluating trends, including but not limited to supporting General Rate Cases, and/or other regulatory filings for asset management needs
- Coordinate with Data Science & Asset Analytics team for the development of M&I dashboards for management reporting and trend analysis.
- Responsible for supporting the M&I Strategies team for identifying any data gaps and establish analytical solutions to improve trend evaluation and analysis
- Identify opportunities to develop self-service and automation tools to improve efficiency and increase quality of trend analysis.
- Act as a key support to M&I Advisors and Management for extracting data sources and providing data interpretation in alignment with Asset Performance framework.
- Develop and conduct presentations to management for decision-making and status updates
Qualifications
The essentials
- Five years or more experience working with functional data and information analytics experience
- Analytical experience with datasets
- Experience building tools using one the following software: Microsoft Access, SQL, SAS Viya, PowerBI.
The preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Statistics, Data Analytics, Math, Business Administration, Economics, or Engineering
- Experience working with ERP (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft), Electric Utility Operations data
- Completed/ in progress professional certification in predictive/advanced analytics or Lean/Six Sigma
- Demonstrated experience communicating both orally and in a written format to a wide variety of audiences
- Experience and proficiency with MS Suite tools including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to derive sound business insights from the analysis of complex issues

- Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
