Overview

The Enterprise Insights and Analytics team is looking for someone who’s passionate about data visualization to join our Tableau Center of Excellence team and help transform business intelligence at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. Be part of a growing effort to create standardized reports and dashboards for the largest alcoholic drink distributor in the US. Work with a corporate team on a visual analytics adoption strategy using Tableau. Use your Tableau expertise to create insightful dashboards that drive business decisions and help the company achieve growth targets. Work with dozens of teams across the organization as you onboard, enable, and support Tableau Creators, Viewers, and Explorers on their visual analytics journeys.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead development of complex and high visibility dashboards utilizing Tableau’s advanced features
  • Keep up to date on new product features and integrate into existing and new project
  • Solve challenging dashboard calculation issues and lead the testing of solutions
  • Propose new standardized dashboard concepts and enhancement ideas for our product roadmap
  • Act as an expert level ‘Tableau Doctor’ for Creators
  • Utilize project management software and work with Project Managers to effectively track and document projects
  • Design, develop and test new standardized data sources utilizing tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, Redshift, Tableau Prep, and Alteryx
  • Lead solutioning, planning, and execution for operational tasks covering Community Enablement, Tableau Server, and Data Strategy
  • Serve as a mentor for new analysts
  • Lead Tableau Server administration


Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide input on overall Tableau deployment strategy and define areas of opportunity
  • Develop thorough, high-quality documentation and reference material to capture all processes and procedures
  • Continually drive data visualization forward and advance analytics to help SGWS achieve a higher ROI from our Tableau investment
  • Design prototypes, create and maintain enterprise level Tableau Workbooks based on requirements from the business
  • Uphold visual analytics best practices and create stunning, highly-performant, user-friendly Tableau workbooks


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or technical degree required (computer science, information systems, business administration or other industry related curriculum) or 5-7+ years of relative experience
  • 5-7+ years of experience building, implementing and supporting Tableau data visualizations. Tableau Certifications are encouraged.
  • Expert knowledge of data visualization best practices and Tableau
  • Experience utilizing a prototyping process for dashboard design, such as Figma
  • Ability to diagnose and solve performance related issues in Tableau
  • Can create optimized data sources based on dashboard prototypes
  • Proficient with analytical tools and languages supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization, such as Excel, Microsoft Office, OneDrive, OneNote, Google Collaborative Apps (Docs, Sheets), Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, SQL


Additional Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Tableau Server administrative tasks
  • Experience with Tableau Server API’s a plus
  • Capability to understand business requirements and how to use analytics to support these requirements
  • Can efficiently troubleshoot issues with Tableau Workbooks
