Overview

The IT Analyst, Disaster Recovery focuses on gathering and interpreting data, gathering, and documenting business requirements, defining and documenting processes (process flows/swim lanes), and standardization of data and processes. Can resolve transaction / data/ process discrepancies. Helps to determine opportunities to automate, streamline, and standardize data and or processes. Creates business requirements documents and knows enough about a platform/technology to create a functional specs for use in building a technical solution through configuration or coding. May do some light configuration and use tools to do the work required to do analysis.
Main responsibilities as a key member of the Disaster Recovery Team will be to promote IT disaster recovery and provide expertise in disaster recovery concepts, plan development, validation, and testing of critical systems. This role is highly focused on the development, delivery, and testing of technical and complex Information System Contingency Plans.


Specialized Skills and Technologies

  • Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Certifications: ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, MBCI, FBCI
  • Critical thinking skills and an analytical mind with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to organize, plan, execute and communicate with peers and leadership regarding all aspects of work
  • Knowledge of authoritative standards, guidelines, and best practices relative to IT disaster recovery, business continuity and resiliency planning
  • Ability to formulate and sustain effective and productive working relationships between diverse members of project teams and work groups
  • Work independently and potentially fill multiple roles simultaneously
  • Firm understanding of Ransomware recovery and architecture of Isolated Recovery Environments
  • 3 years of proven experience in Disaster Recovery field
  • 5 years of experience in an Information Technology discipline
  • 3 years Project Management experience
  • 3 years of IT Contingency Plan development
  • 3 years of IT / DR testing experience
  • Experience developing business impact analysis documents
  • Strategic mindset to lead recovery strategy planning efforts
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex integrated disaster recovery exercises
  • Thorough knowledge of data management in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures
  • Strong ability in building effective relationships with clients and colleagues


Primary Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze data
  • Interpret gathered data
  • Submit reports to the relevant department heads and management
  • Find patterns and trends in the analyzed data
  • Help management and other teams achieve business goals and needs
  • Formulate documentation
  • Track and reconcile data
  • Perform other duties as assigned and contribute to the success of the department and function at SGWS across different departments, sometimes virtually
  • Define, track and monitor KPIs
  • Gather requirements
  • Document requirements as governed by the SGWS PMO
  • Identify risks, define mitigation plan
  • Define project objectives and scope
  • Create functional specs based on requirements gathering
  • Work with developers in transferring functional specs to technical specs
  • Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to identify, analyze, understand, and prioritize activities by business value and urgency


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency using high mathematical concepts such as fractions, algebra, statistics, mathematical modeling and, to some extent, calculus
  • Understanding of IT processes and ability to translate and communicate technical concepts into business language
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, decision-making and quantitative analysis skills to provide insights into performance and efficiency opportunities
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills
  • Excellent customer service skills in all interactions with internal and external customers, including but not limited to personnel from other divisions, vendors, suppliers, and other departments
