The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for over six decades.

SDL’s internship program provides an exciting opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to get involved with state-of-the art technologies in space-, airborne-, and ground-based systems. With the support of engineers and mentors, interns can work on mission-level assignments that complement their academic studies. The program also includes training workshops, networking opportunities, and a variety of summer events and activities.

The Strategic and Military Space Division is looking for several exceptional student engineers for a summer internship. Interns will be tasked with varying duties based on current projects, needed support, and the development phase. Projects will involve applications of Computer Vision including design, implementation, and testing. Potential to collaborate with GNC team on a broader architecture to support closed loop control functionality. Some testing may include hardware mockups in our HALO robotics lab.

Requirements

  • Experience or understanding of at least one of the following areas: Image Processing, Machine/Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence
  • Experience with Matlab and/or C/C++
  • Experience with team collaborative tools
  • Able to work hands on assembling and testing hardware
  • Work well independently with minimum supervision
  • Able to work closely in a team with students and professionals
  • Strong initiative and able to see the job through
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education

Aerospace, Computer Programming, or Electrical Engineering

Senior or graduate student

3.0 GPA minimum is required

Oct 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2022
