What you will do:
- Be a guiding member of the Sales team by sharing insights from analyses to support and influence decision making.
- Maximize sales performance and results by serving as a strategic advisor to sales leadership.
- Increase sales productivity by making recommendations based on collecting, analyzing, evaluating and reporting sales data.
- Ensure financial success by assisting leadership to develop, compile and review the sales budget and rolling sales forecasts, including sales to budget variance analysis.
- Collaborate with sales divisions to obtain and document budget model information such as new product models, programming rates and compensation information.
- Serve as a project lead and work closely with internal clients to understand key business issues and incorporate them into business and financial models.
- Support the Sales organization by serving as a subject matter expert on reporting platforms and team functions while training teams in these areas.
- Recommend improvements, standardization and tools through constant evaluation of current team processes.
- Generate business intelligence and commercial benefit to the Sales organization through the identification and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Create “at-risk” models by using detailed analytical capabilities to perform scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Derive insights from financial analysis of existing accounts and general client behavior patterns through detailed review and interpretation of data.
- Improve efficiencies by developing automated reporting packages that can be conducted on a recurring basis, including maintenance and storage of reports.
- Develop partnerships with IT, Sales Operations, Fulfillment, Marketing, and other Sales support groups to ensure accuracy and functionality of data collection platforms, sales reporting tools, and overall collaboration of all reporting functions.
- Model, report results and analyze the success of incentive programs by working with the Sales Incentive Manager.
- Provide recommendations to optimize the Sales function by performing complex operational analyses as required.
- Perform additional duties related to the position as assigned.
Required keys for success:
- Two years of financial planning experience.
- Five or more years of sales analysis experience.
- Track record of building and maintaining reporting databases.
- Advanced knowledge of relational database with the ability to create stored procedures.
- History of performing complex analysis, such as forecasting.
- Solid issue resolution and analytical skills.
- Logical mindset that can think strategically and creatively.
- Confident when clearly and concisely presenting reports to groups.
- Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to listen and obtain necessary information in order to do the job successfully.
- Ability to coordinate and manage simultaneous requests of varying size and scope.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Knowledge of telecommunications products and services.
- Expert in Salesforce.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Effective written and spoken English communication skills with all levels of an organization.
