Government Programs Analyst, Payor Initiatives

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Government Programs Analyst
TYPE: Temporary ; Full-time (potential for temp to perm for strong experience with financial data)
DURATION: 2-3 months
SHIFT: Mon. – Fri. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ; 1-2 weekends may be required depending on deadlines
PAY: $25-$30 /hour, DOE
LOCATION: Remote ; Must reside in the Greater Nashville Area for training and equipment pick up.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Government Programs Analyst is responsible for submitting data to CMS for all MIPS Categories, including Promoting Interoperability, Quality, and Improvement Activities. The Government Programs Analyst will assist with the submission process, which includes validation and review of submissions, archival of submission receipts, providing daily submission progress updates, and executing any ad hoc projects to support the Payor Initiatives team.

SUPERVISES: None

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Utilizes a standardized and consistent approach to the submission process, training, and measurement of government programs
  • Executes the completion of MIPS submissions for government programs and collaborates with the other team members to implement action plans as needed
  • Appropriate and timely escalation in a matrix organization
  • Engages other team members as necessary to mitigate issues and reach resolutions
  • Directly assists operations staff
  • Supports Government Programs data submissions
  • Adheres to the data entry requirements established by Leadership by following data program procedures
  • Executes special projects as they are assigned
  • Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”


Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES – This position requires the following:

  • Previous exposure to government or quality programs such as the Merit-based Incentive Payment System, Advanced Alternative Payment Models, Meaningful Use, PQRS, Core Measures, etc. preferred
  • Previous exposure to ambulatory healthcare operations or clinical informatics preferred
  • Ability to use Excel and willingness to learn how to use business intelligence and analytics tools
  • Ability to detect data entry discrepancies and resolve in a timely manner
  • Ability to check source documents for accuracy
  • Ability to archive submission evidence into document management system and/or database
  • Strong teamwork skills and comfort working in a highly collaborative environment; this is a high profile and fast paced team
  • A comfort, or even preference, for an environment of discovery and uncertainty
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to perform work, special assignments, and tasks under moderate to general supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and overtime (evenings and weekends) as needed
  • Ability to maintain operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to supervisor
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required

EXPERIENCE: Some work and/or internship experience required
