The Role Responsibilities

As the Program Lead, you’d be able to work on and solve some of the many interesting challenges we are facing, lead new ways of working, and build delightful high-quality products for our customers.

The ultimate goal is to ensure the effective operations of the Bank, striking the balance between its agile and unique digital-only culture, and the Group’s existing governance and strategic direction.
The role holder is responsible for delivering projects end to end against a plan to create value and measurable change for the organisation. The role will establish a consistent framework for optimizing the day-to-day utilisation of resources, budget and platform capability to deliver that value

Strategy

  • Develop the strategy and capability roadmap, in alignment with the TDR strategy and investment appetite.
  • Align strategic roadmap to support the TDR Operations strategy that streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk, improve controls, leveraging technologies.
  • Partner with Architecture on digital agenda, pre-empt disruptive forces and commercialise innovative use of technologies.

Business

  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement throughout all workstreams to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Work closely with the Product Groups, taking programs from investment decisions, into design, specification and solution phases, all the way to implementation on the ground, securing support services from other teams when required. The capabilities we build include those that are needed to meet regulatory requirements as well as capabilities for supporting our Bank’s internal staff.
  • Support respective business groups in the commercialization of capabilities, monitoring of usage, improving client experience, and collecting defects for future improvements

Processes

  • The role is responsible to deliver the ICS projects for the complete process of providing technology solution to the Stakeholders
  • Drive adoption of continuous improvement and agile practices, mindsets and capabilities across the organisation by increasingly adopt Client/Customer Centricity across the Bank to reduce waste and shorten implementation time frames.
  • Establish and drive a portfolio of initiatives, delivering change in line with target outcomes and adopting the global new Ways of Working (NWOW)

People and Talent

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Sets appropriate tone and expectations for their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people such that the SCNXT DAI team is skilled and experienced to deliver its obligations.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development, ensure that direct reports are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles and that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
  • Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
  • Coach, contribute and deliver project / experiments as required to deliver change outcomes on the ground

Risk Management

  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that the teams are performing to an acceptable risk and control standard.
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees.
  • Balance business performance delivery and cost management constraints with risk and control matters to ensure that they do not materially threaten the Group’s ability to remain within risk appetite.

Governance

  • Ensure the program is executed as per the group project management discipline in terms of operating procedures, development standards and compliance with policies and architectural strategy
  • Ensure program milestones, risks, issues, financials are monitored and tracked to ensure that the milestones are met as per the commitments, risks are mitigated to avoid functionality deviations, issues are handled proactively, and financials are managed within the allocated budget
  • Provide relevant and timely inputs to RF and QPR, ensuring delivery of the project outputs and the attainment of project outcomes
  • Embed the Group’s values and ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Data Analytics ICS team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.] *
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities

  • This role would require PMP or CSM certification with 12+ years of relevant experience, covering the implementation of large programs, part of which is operating at the Group level of sizeable international companies, ideally with experience in the finance sector covering the Cyber Security products and services. International exposure, ability to handle cultural diversity and developing high performers are essential to this role
