KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To coordinate operational resources with the data processing schedule through the use of efficient production scheduling techniques. To perform functions associated with the main help desk. Experience documenting operational problems and some knowledge of computer systems (Mainframe and Open Systems).
Job Functions:
- Directly assists customers with request and incident resolution/questions
- Analyze mainframe and open systems control processes. Verify completeness and accuracy of execution and reports
- Ensures production schedules are met, alongside leadership
- Identify computer processing problems and steps required to solve problems/restarts
- Collaborate on production schedules
- Reviews production procedures to ensure compliance and quality requirements
- Submit, troubleshoot, escalate and monitor resolution for IT incidents, requests, problems and changes throughout SCO
- Resolves and coordinate resolutions with in-house staff and vendors
- Monitor the help desk database’s open incidents
- Support and execute application and interface testing protocols
- Create and maintain technical training documentation
- Assist with training new help desk personnel
- Support, engage in and facilitate change management best practices
- Business Continuity Coordination and Support
- Monitor and/or perform system backups
- Coordinate SCO Data Center hardware preventive maintenance
- Enforces physical security best practices for SCO Datacenter
- General housekeeping as pertains to specific shift
- Perform system stability checks
- Monitor SCO Data Center Environmental equipment
Additional Functions:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Contributes to the positive performance of the computer services division and the office
- Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance (critical to this position)
- Position may involve occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds for short distances
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience maintaining production schedules and meeting pre-defined deadlines
- Provide aid to customers and convey information to technical staff
- Reading and comprehending technical material
- Experience documenting operational problems and some knowledge of computer systems (Mainframe and Open Systems)
- Demonstrates good knowledge of computer operations processes
- Ability to interpret technical materials and adhere to documented processes/procedures
- Strong organization, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Sensitive to confidential information and privacy while providing customer service
- Strong sense of customer service and professionalism, even in a sometimes-stressful environment
- Ability to meet deadlines while being interrupted and to adapt to constantly changing situations
- Ability to complete assigned tasks individually, as well as work cooperatively as a team to complete tasks
- Perform job duties in a consistent, thorough and accurate manner
