JOB DESCRIPTION
Do you have excellent analytical skills and great attention to detail?
In this role you will create data quality rules for the data in the Enterprise Data Governance Catalog, develop and monitor exception reports, and implement corrective action plans. The ongoing monitoring of data quality within the Catalog is key to ensuring data is trustworthy and valuable in driving insights across the bank. Working within the Enterprise Data Governance Team will allow you to see how we are transforming our bank while also gaining experience in Policy Implementation and measurement of progress.
The Data Governance Reporting and Quality Analyst will focus on the Development Lifecycle of Program Reporting by gathering requirements, building and testing reports, as well as distributing stock and exception reporting to members of the Data Steward Community. The reporting occurs against pre-defined metrics as a method to measure compliance to Policy Requirements and Prioritized Programs
Responsibilities
- Gather and Prioritize List of Data Governance Reporting Requirements
- Develop and Test BI Reports Satisfying Provided Requirements
- Disseminate Canned Reporting on a Set Cadence to Required Parties
- Identify Opportunities to Improve Current Program BI Reporting
- Create Operational Data Quality Rules Related to Data Governance Catalog Metadata Ensuring Content within the Catalog Remains of High Quality
- Execute Data Quality Rules to Identify Rule Exceptions
- Collate Data Quality Exceptions and Group for Resolution with Appropriate Data Governance Organizations
- Remediate Data Quality Rule Exceptions within the Enterprise Data Catalog in Co-Operation with Business Owners, Data Stewards, Data Governance Organization Members, and Governance Leads
- Summarize Results of Data Quality Exception Lifecycle to Identify Thematic Trends and Highlight Additional Quality Checks for Implementation
- Ensure Business Unit Policy Compliance through the Monitoring of Established Data Lineage and Metrics Progress
- Draft Testing Plans for UAT and Production Checkouts of Data Governance Toolkit
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries, Visualization/Business Intelligence tools (i.e. Spotfire, PowerBI, Information Builder)
- Previous Experience in Software Development Lifecycle Model and Requirement Gathering
- Ability to Understand Data Models, Data Taxonomy, and Data Quality Industry Best Practices
- Strong Understanding of Enterprise Data Management Concepts, Principles and Practices Including Database Structures, Enterprise Data Catalogs, and Operational Data Quality
- Proven Ability to Assess and Evaluate Processes and Perform Root Cause Analysis Leading to Resolution of Data Quality Issues.
- Conceptual Awareness of Corporate Information Security Best Practices
- Ability to Interact with Data Stewards of Varying Levels of Seniority While Communicating Clearly and Concisely
- Ability to Write and Maintain Data Governance Operating Procedures and Documentation
- Prior Business Operations Role with Focus on Data Analysis Skillset and Transferable Data Governance Knowledge
- 5+ years of Technology Business, Data, Access Management experience
- BA/BS Computer Science/Business/MIS
